I recently got my first pair of glasses at this office and had a great experience. Dr. Macbeth was amazing and took extra time to answer all my questions. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful. After my appointment lara helped me find a great pair of glasses that I love. She was very nice and explained everything throughly, making the entire process easy and pleasant. A few days later I came back for an adjustment on the new glasses Teresa at the front desk helped me right away to get the glasses fitting perfect. Overall I had a great experience here and will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.
First time and I had a great experience from beginning to end. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately by Nikkiya. Marvin started my eye exam, while Dr. Macbeth was pleasant and efficient. While browsing frames, Nikkiya was incredibly helpful in finding a suitable pair for me. I'd definitely come back!
I had been going to this place when it was owned by Dr. Bennett. I used to go to Dr. Bennett for my eye appointments. But once in a while I would see Dr. MacBeth. She was always very good.
Last year I had an appointment with her that was her last appointment of the day. I believe that she rushed my appointment because of this and did not do my prescription correctly. I have prism in my prescription and she changed my vertical prism which hasn't been changed in many years. I didn't realize the problem until I got my glasses and my eyes felt very uncomfortable and I didn't see as well. I did not use MyEyeDr. for the glasses as I have another place I like to go to. When I called to see Dr. MacBeth to check the prescription she gave me the receptionist told me I had to bring the glasses in first so they could check them to make sure they were don't correctly.
I went in to their office and met with one of the opticians. She checked the glasses and told me that there were problems with them. However, I'm an optician myself and I didn't think what she said made sense. I went back to the eyeglass place I usually go to and told the optician what the MyEyeDr. optician said and we both agreed that the other optician was completely wrong. Also, I have never gotten incorrect glasses from the place I usually go to. What I'm most upset about is that Dr. MacBeth would not see me again to check her prescription. I guess she is under the impression that she doesn't make any mistakes. This is a very unethical way to have a practice.
Everyone is very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Dr Macbeth is amazing! I wanted to get three pairs of glasses with the prescription lenses I need and was expecting to pay an arm and a leg, but the staff did everything they could to help me and educated me on my insurance. Very helpful, and I would highly recommend them.
Dr Dorling and the clinical staff were professional, kind, and provided excellent care. Unfortunately, my experience after the exam at the front desk was extremely concerning.
After my exam, the receptionist began loudly discussing my personal and insurance information in a lobby full of patients. She stated that I had "two addresses" and did so loudly enough that I could hear her from two rooms away, drawing attention from others in the waiting area and making me very uncomfortable.
She asked me to confirm my address but did not explain why the information was being requested or how it related to my insurance. Rather than addressing the issue privately, the situation escalated publicly.
Most troubling was when the receptionist loudly stated the following in front of other patients:
"HE IS TRYING TO USE HIS GIRLFRIEND'S INSURANCE BUT THEY DON'T LIVE TOGETHER ANYMORE. HE'S LISTED AS A DOMESTIC PARTNER BUT HE MIGHT NOT HAVE HIS OWN INSURANCE."
This statement disclosed private personal and insurance information in a public space and was entirely inappropriate.
In addition, the receptionist asked me to verbally provide my full Social Security number in the lobby and also requested the primary insurance holder's Social Security number. These requests were made out loud, in a public area, and ultimately were not even necessary. Being asked to share such sensitive information verbally in front of others was alarming and inappropriate.
This entire situation could have been resolved discreetly and professionally if the receptionist had simply asked whether I had any other insurance I would like to use. Ultimately, this became a non-issue, as I used the insurance I have through my employer. My girlfriend's insurance was on file only because she scheduled the appointment for me and has me listed on her plan.
Throughout the interaction, the receptionist repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a condescending manner rather than attempting to resolve the issue calmly and respectfully. The overall experience made me feel embarrassed, judged, and disrespected.
I am sharing this feedback so that front desk communication, privacy practices, and insurance-related discussions can be handled more professionally and respectfully in the future. No patient should have their personal or sensitive information discussed publicly in a waiting area.
Unlike, this lady, I respect boundaries so I've decided to leave this review instead of giving her feedback in the public lobby.
Wow. What a disaster this place is.
- Arrive at 3:30pm on a Fri for a 3:40pm eye exam for my 6 year old
- We get put in a sauna, both in size and temp, at about 3:50pm
- at 4:40, an hour after our appt (which was scheduled for 3:30), my daughter stirted going stir crazy and I go to the front desk
- the rude unfriendly receptionist says, sorry, running behind, nothing we can do. Totally dismissive and speaks in a "I hate my life and therefore you too" voice without making eye contact
- a gentleman also in the lobby told me he waited 45 minutes
- then an assistant takes us to a bigger room to wait more... but in comfort! They could not provide an ETA. I was told the doctor is not good and cannot keep up.
- at 5pm another assistant comes in the room and apologized. Says that the Dr. had an emergency with the previous patient and still doesn't know how long it will be.
- 5:20 I'm told that they don't want to make me wait any longer and I should leave
- 5:21 I walk out to silence with 3 assistants standing against the wall in silence - not a word
- 5:21 and 30 seconds I open the front door and try to figure out if I just hallucinated that experience. My daughter assured me I didn't and told me for the 12th time how starving she was.
I wouldn't book this amateur hour place again if it was free. Avoid at all costs. Trust me.
I had a great experience and the staff was so helpful not only during my eye exam but also when selecting new glasses from their wide selection. They were also very helpful with providing me with guidance on my insurance plan. Can't recommend them enough! 10/10
I visited this center to repair my broken glasses. They were extremely customer-oriented and fixed my glasses perfectly. I'm very satisfied with their service and highly recommend them.
Thanks
