I originally typed a review bring very specific about my horrible experience. Upon reading the response from the business owner, Pauline, I'm going to chop it down and edit.
I tried EyeCandy for a 2nd time, last and ONLY time being YEARS ago, I figured things would be better. In all my years of getting lash extensions, this is the only place where TWICE there was retention issues. I went in on their deal, $99, PEANUTS.
Upon arrival, 10 mins early, I discussed what I'd like. Upon showing me the finished result, in the chair, I audibly gasped. I said they looked a lot shorter than I had expected, this was due to the curl which I didn't love. There was zero dimension to these lashes, and it seemed like there were too many, come to find out they were ALL fans. I told her after the time spent and such just leave them she said now she really knows what I want we can change it at my refill. When I went to leave, the tech, owner and receptionist complimented them to which I told them the discussion and that they're fine I guess. ZERO raving, ZERO excitement. POLITENESS, I felt SO awkward and do not LOVE to complain. I spent the rest of the afternoon being laughed at by my gfs who told me my strip lashes looked better. I wasn't even going to REALLY sweat it, I hoped for the best for next visit- until the vast majority came out by end of day 1. Picking them off is dangerous- you can damage your natural lashes, so there was none of that. They were flaking off in front of my doctor at my appointment! Between the look and the retention issue I was not impressed. Still, I was going to wait until refill.
By Friday I had possibly 4 lashes left, and Pauline said she can schedule me for 9 on Sat, or 930 to which I agreed to 930. I arrived 13 minutes late, as it was snowing ALOT. I apologized and said I really don't want them fixed just removed. Nowhere in any process was I told about a removal fee. I did agree but the day before hung up feeling stupid- why would I want the same tech to work on me again?
When I contacted them Monday to discuss my refund, I explained the awkwardness the convo with the tech the retention issue and felt due a refund. The receptionist argued I received a service no refund, told me how happy I had been and kept taking the phone away from her face to discuss the issue with someone there who couldn't hear me so.. After being spoken to condescendingly and argued with, I did lose my cool. I called get out of her name and hung up.
Instead of gracefully just admitting this didn't work out, and giving me a refund, now the problem for raising the issue and essentially being pushed to my reaction. Being unhappy with other services long in the past elsewhere and this, the owner is urging other salons, as if that's how it works, not to work with me. Any bad reviews received, you can see the owners argumentative responses, and seeming attacks. Instead of contacting me to hear me out, as if I have nothing better to do than attack women owned small businesses, she contacted a mutual acquaintance that I haven't spoken to in years to one sidedly gossip, who then reached out to harass me, and came here to attempt to bully me in her response. I hope her response speaks greater volumes about this woman and business. Her response is excuses and trying to demean and discredit - typical text book bully behavior
For what it's worth, anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge supporter of locally owned small businesses, especially women owned- you review on Google WARN ppl. I have multiple pinned posts across social media promoting and supporting MANY small businesses.


I have been to a few lash salons in my years and though all of them did a great job, Eye Candy exceeds my expectations every visit. From the moment I walk in, I'm greeted with friendly faces and wonderful customer service. In the years I've gone, Maddie has been my most frequent tech but I've had the pleasure of seeing Allyssa and Pauline on several occasions. Not only are they professional but they are so kind and down to earth. You can tell how much they truly care about their trade and their clients just by listening closely to their interactions. They are top tier women who brought on great success by making everyone who steps foot through the door feel beautiful, inside and out. I will always highly recommend Eye Candy for both lash and facial needs!
The absolute best! I have been a client at Eye Candy for over 8 years and wouldn't consider going any where else. I constantly receive compliments on my lashes because their work is truly outstanding. The entire staff is friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to do business with.
The friendliest, most talented and amazing staff. The environment is beautiful, clean and soooo relaxing. My lashes have never looked better and I am so excited to soon try a facial! I have heard so many great things from people about their experiences at this business and they absolutely live up to all of them!
I've been seeing Pauline/Eye Candy for 10 years. Not only are they amazing at lashing, I look forward to chatting w Pauline every two wks just as much as I do getting my lashes done. The salon and staff are very welcoming. The space is very relaxing and cozy- they even have a book swap there! I love getting a "new to me" book to take home every two wks. If you have ever considered getting your lashes done, go here. Highly recommend!!
