Riverside Eye Care

Over the last few years I have been going to this doctor. Things were fine until they moved into the new office. Since then, twice I have asked for my contact prescription and have had to call again because the wrong year was sent. A month ago I went for my yearly and my usual inability to see with what I was wearing. I left being told I have an astigmatism now in my left eye as well as my right and new trial contacts were being ordered. I was given an eye glass prescription and told to "go somewhere else" for cheaper glasses because they don't carry cheaper ones any more and I choose to use my insurance money towards contacts. I my new glasses came in and I had difficulty seeing out of them. It wasn't until I was given my trial contacts that I knew something was wrong. The doctor mixed up the prescriptions and didn't calculate them correctly. When I brought in my new glasses I was told they were "off but you can't see out of them because they are high index and you are used to Polly". What I was told by every online glasses company as well as Walmart was that my prescription is too high and I no longer can HAVE the poly I can ONKY have the hi-res. I find it hard that everyone knows this except for him. I was also told that my "corrected contacts" were coming in. Not only were these the SAME PRESCRIPTION I HAD AND COULDN'T SEE OUT OF but they right eye is SIGNIFICANTLY bigger than my lacy contact lense. All day long people were asking me why I was squinting and I said I felt like I had to to keep my contact from popping out. It wasn't until I came home and compared the measurements that I realized it was too big and I couldn't see STILL because it was the SAME PRESCRIPTION AS WHAT I HAD!!!! If you have an early eye issue or low prescription then this is the MD for you. If you have ANYTHING out of the ordinary seek treatment elsewhere. I just feel bad for the girls working in the office. He is clearly incompetent. Never going back and now have to pay to 1. Get new glasses off of the incorrect prescription HE gave me and 2. Have to pay for a new exam out of pocket because his incompetence billed my insurance. And now he expects me to pay for his incompetence!!!

worst experience ever Dr Guertin insists on charging $5 each for eye pads on glasses. When asked if he would rather lose a loyal customer, who has spent thousands on exams and eyeglasses, rather than put $10 (his new charge) on a pair of eyeglasses, he arrogantly said he would rather lose my family's business. Time to find a new eye Dr. . who is not cheap and stupid! I need someone who appreciates customers and loyalty! Good luck with him and Riverside Eyecare!

Don't be put off by negative reviews. Dr. Guertin and his staff are wonderful! They are concerned with patient safety and follow all COVID guidelines like wearing masks and limiting the number of customers in the office. The office staff are welcoming and very professional and Dr. Guertin is not only thorough but patiently explains the steps involved in the eye exam. Riverside Eye Care is a great place for the whole family, a welcome change from the chain store optical departments.

This was my second visit to this office since Dr. Guertin took over for the retired Dr. Landfield. Such a huge change from the caring, pleasant visits I had experienced for many years with Dr. Langfield and his staff. On this visit I was led to a converted closet with wires hanging all over the walls and floor to an automated machine which was briefly introduced by the technician and I was left alone for about 10 minutes. Once the machine was off I had been told to stay there until the doctor came for me to continue other examinations. I waited 20 minutes after the machine had finished with me until he came and ushered me into his office. Why I was not allowed to wait in the waiting room is a mystery to me. After the doctor's exam he instructed me to not talk to him at all for at least five minutes while he compiled his findings. He asked if I had any questions, saying, "No." I was sent to the waiting room. I made an appointment for next year, which I WILL NOT attend. Five weeks after my exam I called to find out if my glasses were ready and the receptionist told me they were ready. I asked why I had to wait so long and she said the office had called to notify me they were ready some weeks ago. They robo called. I do not answer robo calls, they have three receptionist at that desk, why do they robo call. Today I went to finally pick up my glasses and was told to wait outside the front door and I would be met by someone, she came and handed me a bag with my new glasses. I asked, "Aren't we going try them on?" She said, "We can't do that, if we did people would be in and out all day." Hard to believe isn't it? Never again!!!

Love taking my son here. Everyone is so nice. They go above and beyond for my son everytime. From the eye doctor to all the girls. Top notch. Thanks for always making it smoothe for my boy!

Great and efficient service. I live 35 mins away and choose to come here because of how great they are and how well they take care of their clients. Their staff is great. Highly recommend!!
