Great Lakes Ophthalmology

Dr. Mazey: First impressions are important. During my very first appointment you and your assistant came into the exam room and didn't introduce yourself and barely greeted me. When I confirmed who you are you responded but didn't look up from the chart. Your reviews are impressive but you need to acknowledge your patients and greet us accordingly. It takes less than a minute.

Giving one star due to the receptionist staff. The lady at the front desk was VERY rude to me, my mother, and my grandmother on three separate occasions for three different appointments. She created a very unwelcoming atmosphere and I wanted to leave. She wasn't friendly, got snippy at me because I had a question about paperwork, rolled her eyes and huffed at me. I would usually give the benefit of the doubt and assume she had a bad day, but seeing as this was the same experience my mother and grandmother got, I'm going to assume it's just her.

Dr. Mazey is great, and the Staff are too. Expect a wait but lounge is comfortable, with plenty of room for people w mobility issues.

I love going to DR.Mazey. He's one of the best I have been to. They take so much time to make sure each of the patients they see everyday are taken care of. I am one of the people that understands hes a specialist and it does take an hour to get in and out but I wait at my PCP for about 2 1/2 hours.

Took 4 weeks to get an Appointment, to remove a small stye on my eye lid, I waited 1 hour in the waiting room, the receptionist was Horrible Rude. When I was finally called the Tech started asking me questions. We I inquired about why I had to wait 1 hour was told in a noxious manner that my appointment was slid in. so I can expect to wait while others with Appointments were taken. . I reminded here that I made my Appointment 4 weeks PRIOR was not slide in. She responded with .. Hey Move on. whats your issue today. I told her about the stye on my eye lid was told that they DO NOT remove them but only on Friday . I would have to schedule another appointment , but since I was there they should check my eyes. I Promptly realize that this guy is Only interested in Collecting money to pay for his brand new Huge building that he recently built.. I told the rude lady forget it. I will find another Eye Doctor that Appreciate my time and is Concern with my Health not my Dollars. . and walked out.

Absolutely fantastic service, the entire staff was above and beyond kind when I had questions and Dr. Mazey was so understanding when I had to call him back for a follow-up concern at the end of my visit. I would recommend it to anyone who needs eye care to choose Great Lakes Opthalmology.

As good as Dr. Mazey is, his staff just lost him two patients. My wife was seen for a routine eye exam for glasses. The technician would change the letters and ask, "Can you see that?" My wife replied, "No" The technician then said, "Tryyour best." To which my wife replied, "It's blurry." The technician then raised her voice and said, "TRY YOUR BEST!" Repeating the same directions in a louder voice will not change the response... We will not be back.

Dr. Mazey is the best! He takes great care of you, is very skilled, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I've had nothing but great experiences with him, the staff and everything. I recommend him to everyone!
