Eye Care Associates of Utica

Dr. Guinta and the staff at Eye Care Associated of Utica are AWESOME! My family and I have been going here for years. Dr. Guinta is the most personal medical professional I have ever known. The staff is AMAZING too! I love them all! Thank you so much for treating my family so well! :-)

I just visited there facility and DR Kallias and staff were very all on hands and very outgoing at the time of my visit. I would highly recommend anyone to come to you. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely wouldn't hesitate.

Dr. Tomaras is the best, unfortunately her staff is not. It must say something if I left the practice due to the front reception staff. The staff doesn't care if you're there or not and the wonderful service the doctor provides can't over come the unprofessionalism of her staff.

Been going here about 25 years, and having insurance changes and issues this year so haven't been able to come in, and apparently you can't purchase a box of contacts if it's been more than a year because the prescription is "expired." So now I can't see at all!! Super helpful. ^Aside from all that though, and the frustration of being blind for several weeks, I did think both Dr. Guinta and Dr. Tomaras were great, and there was a reason I was a long time patient with them.

I can count on one hand the number of negative reviews I've left...but this situation made me so upset, that I had to come on. The low rating is NOT reflective of the doctors themselves. I used to see Dr. Guinta as a child and he is amazing...seriously awesome. The low rating is for the office staff who turned my husband away from his appointment (which was an emergency appointment due to some sort of cyst on his eye that caused him not to be about to see) because he was late due to his Uber driver not showing up, then having to get another one, (since he can't drive right now due to medical reasons.) The receptionists did not care ONE BIT that he Ubered there, that he had problems, nothing. Didn't say to wait, they could squeeze him in, NO solution other than to tell him to leave. When I called to complain about this, they also didn't care and just gave a rehearsed speech about it getting their "policy if someone is late". They did not care about our wasted money or time, or that my husband now had to find another place to take him, or had to wait until I could get off work to be able to take him. If you have ever been late due to no fault of your own and you were hoping for compassion from the place you went to but didn't get it...you understand. Thankfully, most places I have been to do NOT treat people like this and they try to figure something out to help the person, instead of just stating a rote memorized line about it being "their policy". What a shame.

Initially, I chose this practice because it has the latest technologies like Optomap to scan your eyes (instead of dilation) and a machine that automatically estimates your eye prescription. What I didn't know is how many people love Dr. Guinta. He's very personable and most importantly, will help you understand and fix any issues with your eyesight. I never feel rushed when I see him, and feel he has his patient's best interests at heart. He goes the extra mile for his patients - highly recommend!

They didn't dilate my eyes! They didn't have to! Advanced NRI type machine took pictures and found lots of things that other eye doctors have missed. So happy I found Dr. Tomaras!! Go see them!!!

My kids and I have been going here for a few years now, the doctor is so sweet and nice, we really like this place.
