I love Desoto Eye care!! Dr. Allen Schaeffer been me, my brother, and my late mother Eye Dr. For many years!! He's very professional, kind, and friendly!! He also got patience with his patients. He Explains everything he is doing. And the front staff members are friendly!! If you are looking for quality Eye care the Desoto eye care is the place to go!!

Today I was sent there by another Provider after the the Emergency Room at Baptist Desoto. THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM IS UNBELIEVABLE. UPON MY ARRIVAL I HAD NO CLUE Dr.Schaeffer wasn't there and wasn't going to be there until 1PM. Ok that wasn't a problem but the young lady at the front desk was sooooo rude. I walked in and told them why I was there oh my god you would have thought it was a problem. The was she responded to me telling me he wasn't in and what time he would be there was unbelievable. Never made eye contact at all. The other young lady was cordial and listened to what I had to say and engaged more and told me to return later on. People need to realize you're working for someone and it's not your establishment. Learn to be kind regardless because you have a job to do. I hate I was referred there but I was in excruciating pain all for him to give me an over the counter ointment that he said himself was hard to find but told me to try another one . It's unbelievable the patient care you receive nowadays. It's not like my visit was free I paid before the paperwork was filled out. Character. ... Integrity & Humility is everything.

Dr. Ridge is the BEST doctor we have ever seen. She was so kind and sweet with my autistic son. I absolutely love the staff! They are hilarious and patient every visit. I have been visiting this office since high school, and have always been pleased with the service provided.

If you are not buying glasses, your problem doesn't deserve to be treated. Even though you are paying for services, you are treated very disrespectfully by this doctor. He acts like you are bothering him with your little problem. My insurance will only pay for generic medication. He chooses expensive name brand medication for over $1000 that my insurance doesn't cover. Needless to say, I never got that medication. I tried calling to get the medication changed to a generic version; but I kept getting transferred to a ringing phone that no one answered. Also, There is no privacy because the doors are left wide open. The patient across the hall knows all of your business.The doctor does not wash his hands between patients; that is just filthy. He goes back and forth across the hall between patients. I was also wondering, Why he needed to know what other opthamologist had I seen. I found that very strange. The front office staff leaves their desk to peek in the exam room at you. The white girl, who took my insurance information when I arrived, ignored me when I tried to make a follow-up appointment. The token next to her said she could make the appointment. Find another provider. Dr. Alan R. Schaeffer and his staff are very unprofessional, and have nasty attitudes. I hate I wasted my time and money going there.

I had a corneal abrasion. Ulcer and bacterial infection followed. Doc proactively and aggressively got on top of the situation. He was thorough with his explanations and treatment. Highly recommended!!

Everybody was professional and friendly. Dr Ridge was patient and thorough with the examination. She answered all of of my questions and was very nice. She took the time to make sure my contacts worked for me and I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend going here.

Overall, it was a great experience. They took their time with me and everyone very professional. My only issue were the equipment. One chair I sat in did not had a missing back. Where they shine the bright light in your eyes afterward dilated, keep going out in the middle of the exam and the sink leaked.
