Medical Eye Specialists

Very disspointed with the customer service of this business, will never recommend or use them again. My husband expressed that he wanted a very basic appointment to be able to renew his contact lens prescription. He called ahead of time to ensure that insurance would cover the appointment and the receptionist assured him that it was in network and covered. After the appointment we promptly recevied a $350+ bill that was not covered. Apparently this business specializes in appointments that have to do with surgical procedures for pre and post opt appointments or other medical procedures, so instead of checking for eye insurance coverage, they checked the medical insurance coverage. Instead of clarifiying the reason for his visit or asking for a referal they scheduled him and he attended the appointment. So we were in fact not covered by eye insurance and billed that total for the most basic eye appointment. On top of that he was given the prescription for glasses not contacts, so when we went to place an order for contacts we needed a different form. We tried to call their office, no one answered, we went in-person to find three receptionists who looked to be doing nothing, who were then able to print out the correct form. For being a local business I was very dissapointed to find the receptionist saying "they don't know how he even got an appointment because we typically don't do appointments for that" but they were completely unable to do anything about lowering our bill for the miscommunication on coverage. Very disappointing experience, especially after being recommended to go there.

Jacob was great and did a very thorough evaluation spending time to completely explain his diagnosis. As a first time patient, other than the fellow that checked me in, I found the rest of the staff to be unfriendly and standoffish. Also, after driving 1.5 hours to arrive for my 9:30 am appointment on time, I wasn't thrilled that I wasn't seen until 10:05.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Zangenberg as he investigated a blur I am experiencing. He made sure he understood my complaint and then gave me a thorough examination discussing the process and testing thoughout the appointment in a clear manner. He confirmed several times if I questions during the process making sure he did not leave me wondering. Very professional and had a sense of humor. I would highly recommend Dr. Zangenberg and Medical Eye Specialist. Thank you!

Very efficient service and kind staff. Everyone seemed competent and testing seemed thorough. Felt a bit rushed with my questions toward the end of my time with Dr. Z, though that seems to be the way most doctor visits are these days. Anyway to mitigate that? I appreciated being seen so quickly since I had been in ER at hospital over the weekend.

I went in for an issue with my right eye and found out it is the beginning of cataracts. The medical staff were very nice and professional. Jacob Zangenberg examined me. Jacob was professional and thorough. I have never had an eye examination as well as Jacob did for me and took the time to communicate future care. I highly recommend Medical Eye Specialist and Jacob Zangenberg. A big thank you!

I have been working with having my medical records transferred over and had verified twice with my clinic in Colorado that they got confirmation with faxing that over- but each time I called in the Medical Eye Specialist reception said they got nothing... frustrating to say the least. The receptionist was not very customer oriented in helping me find a solution and I had to ask them to provide an email instead. I get that there are technical issues at times, but friendlier staff who are on it to help is so needed especially as I am looking for support with a diagnosis that has been causing me great stress.

I recently had cataract surgery in both eyes. I saw Dr. Lisa Herrygers, and she was excellent! I could not have asked for a more positive experience. Dr. Herrygers was extremely kind, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I would highly recommend her, and the entire staff at Medical Eye Specialists. Thank you!

I've been a patient of Medical Eye Specialists for many years. First time seeing Dr Watkins. I had some concerns about the treatment which caused me to hesitate as long as possible before coming in. Dr Watkins was good to hear my concerns & advise me. The procedure I needed went very well. Fairly light pain & no bruising. I appreciate that & would highly recommend Dr Watkins. The treatment was very effective so I plan to not wait as long next time. Everyone at the clinic has been just great!
