This Malbar location is always honest and efficient. I love Dr. Felt and all of the staff are super sweet and helpful. The front desk ladies are welcoming and wish you a good day when you leave. The opticians will work with you on picking out frames and give great suggestions. The only thing is the office needs to be updated other than that this is the best Malbar in the city
Dr Felt was amazing, friendly and very knowledgeable. I can tell he really loves what he does. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Quality glasses. 10/10 highly recommend.
To anyone considering this location, I would not recommend it based on my recent experience. At the time of check-in, I was given a run down of the cost for my appointment; however, by the end of the visit, the total had more than doubled. When I inquired about the unexpected increase, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and rude. Additionally, I was charged for a service that I never requested, which appears to have resulted from a lack of communication on their part. As a single-income household, I find it unacceptable to be charged over twice the quoted amount without prior notice or consent--and then treated disrespectfully when raising a reasonable concern. This experience was highly unprofessional, and I will not be returning.
Dr. Felt is always kind and helpful. He listens well when we have questions. Our whole family is under his care.
If you can get past the front desk ladies - congrats because they've successfully bullied me out of the office.
First--this truly pains me to write. I've gone back and forth for weeks on what to do, but ultimately, I have to trust my gut: if sharing my experience spares even one customer from feeling degraded, dismissed, or disrespected, then it's worth speaking up.
Second--this is not about Dr. Felt. He is an exceptional optometrist, and my family will continue seeing him (without me) unless changes are made. He is thorough, listens to his patients, and treats everyone with respect. My issue is entirely with the front desk--specifically one individual, along with whoever was working with her Wednesday.
Yesterday's (9/3/25) call was the last straw. I even had my husband listen to it because he's the logical one while I tend to be the "big baby," but even he was stunned by the way I was spoken to. I was all but accused of lying when I said I hadn't been told my glasses were in--despite having call and text records from the last 30 days to prove otherwise. I have physical proof the front desk staff lied to me.
This isn't an isolated incident. At my last visit, I was treated so poorly and was yelled at and accused of lying in a full shop. So much so that I broke down in the exam room. In total, I've been verbally lashed out at three times now, including my very first visit when I walked out feeling humiliated. And yet, nothing has been done. Who verbally attacks a patient in a full lobby of patients? Congratulations, being a bully paid off for you ma'am.
So, following my husband's advice, I'll be leaving Malbar for my optometry needs effective today. It truly breaks my heart to walk away because of front desk staff, but I can't continue feeling this way or being treated this way. It is really sad to see other reviews from patients with the same exact experiences and here I am months later fighting their same fight. This is just proof it will never change. If it was a problem 4 months ago, it will be 4 months down the line until there is accountability. I'm just choosing not to sit around, holding my breath waiting for something that clearly isn't going to happen.
If you want a genuinely caring and skilled optometrist, I still highly recommend Dr. Felt. He's outstanding. I just wish the support staff reflected the same professionalism and respect.
I've visited several eye clinics around town over the past decade, and Malbar Vision truly stands out. The entire staff makes me feel like I'm the only patient in the room, even when the clinic is busy. Their dedication to making sure my glasses--and my vision--are the best they can be is unmatched. I highly recommend them!
It's honestly appalling how rude the people that work here are.
I usually go to the Tower location, but my glasses broke due to a manufacturing issue, and Maple had the frames I wanted to switch to. When I arrived, I stood at the counter while the front desk ladies chatted and ignored me, and then acted as if I was the rude one for interrupting. I was then directed to the glasses lady (I don't know what her title is), and explained the issue - that I'd gone through 3 of these same frames in less than a year, they keep breaking in the same place, Tower told me it was a manufacturing issue, and that I'd be able to get a new pair of different frames, but mine were also still under warranty - she treated me like I was lying to her, and refused to help, saying that it would be a negative mark against her store, so I would not be able to replace mine there.
It's a good thing the Tower location has an amazing staff, otherwise I would never get glasses through Malbar again.
Dr Felt's location is extremely professional and welcoming. I love the staff and their fun and helpful environment. Most importantly is the thorough and special attention to detail in the care of my eyes. As a bonus, I specifically love the quality selection of frames available. I would highly recommend to my family, friends, and co-workers.
