When we realized our daughter would need months of therapy, Dr. Gates and his team worked with us with compassion and great care. They provided thorough reports and progress checks to ensure that our daughter was making the improvements she needed. We had a fantastic experience all around, and would recommend NVIC to anyone who has a child who struggles. Our daughter made enormous progress and when we asked her what she noticed had improved she answered, "Mom, everything is just easier!" We are so grateful to Dr. Gates and his staff. We are so thankful for the incredible impact that OMST therapy with Dr. Gates had on our son. At age six, our son was diagnosed with PANS/PANDAS after having COVID, which created painful motor tics in his neck, jaw and tongue along with nighttime terrors. This turned into a long and complex health journey. He was also diagnosed with Lyme disease, was treated with IV antibiotics, and then we later discovered toxic mold in his bedroom, which led to full home remediation and detox protocols, and a special diet. We chose to homeschool to avoid illnesses that created flairs of the painful motor tics. We worked on multiple treatments through a functional medicine pediatrician for three years before we found out about OMST therapy. During that time, we also completed a course of occupational therapy to address retained reflexes, and while it helped, we knew there was still something deeper going on. That's when I came across OMST (Oculomotor Sensory Therapy) and learned how it targets the brainstem and visual processing areas -- the same areas affected by PANS/PANDAS. We made the decision to fly from Minnesota to Omaha, Nebraska, staying two weeks while our now 10 yr old son attended daily OMST sessions, including colored light therapy. The process was incredibly smooth, and our son truly enjoyed the sessions. We even made it a special family trip, visiting the zoo and science museum between therapies. Just a few weeks after finishing OMST, our 10-year-old son was able to ride a bike for the first time -- something he had struggled with for years due to depth perception and balance issues. And over the months that followed, we watched in amazement as the painful flairs of motor tics in his jaw and tongue gradually disappeared. He was also able to start participating in jiu jitsu, golf and ski lessons. Dr. Gates was kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging from the beginning. This therapy was truly the missing piece in our son's healing journey. I only wish OMST was available in more cities -- so many children are struggling with these invisible challenges, and this therapy can make a life-changing difference. If your child is facing PANS/PANDAS, visual processing issues, tics, or sensory struggles, I highly recommend reaching out to Dr. Gates. This therapy gave our son his childhood back, and we are forever grateful.

We have sent all of our kids to Dr. Gates and he has been the best. His staff is always attentive and works hard to accommodate our schedule. Dr. Gates does a wonderful job of diagnosing and explaining the issues so that we can work on improvements for our kids. We have seen a lot of change in our kids school work and endurance through out the day. We would greatly recommend Dr. Gates.

Dr Gates and his team are absolutely amazing. They were very good with my SPD kid, and he loved going to see them. We did both the OMST program and the vision therapy program. Both showed noticeable results for his physical coordination and ability to focus/learn in school. His teacher commented how much better he was doing. I couldn't be more pleased with this place and Dr. Tanner Gates is amazing!. I have been to several eye doctors trying to get glasses for the last 2 years and just couldn't get the prescription right due to graves disease. And then finally got a referral to go here to the Nebraska Visual integation Center and Dr. Tanner Gates was very thorough and did a bunch of testing etc. and finally came up with a prescription for me and I went and had my glasses changed again and I finally got my glasses back today and I Can See!!!! I couldn't be more happier then I am right now!! Thank you so much Dr. Tanner Gates!!!

Dr. Gates and his team at Nebraska Visual Integration Center are amazing. After struggling for years to help my daughter read, we came across information about behavioral ophthalmology and functional vision. My primary eye doctor suggested Dr. Gates, and the results have been astounding. She reads fluently and comfortably now and has developed confidence with academic tasks. Dr. Gates conducted a thorough evaluation to pinpoint her issues, then he and his team took her through about 4 months of carefully guided therapy to resolve the issues. Every interaction has been professional, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Dr Gates and his wonderful staff were amazing to work with! My son has been in glasses since he was four years old for estropia and other things that we were told the glasses would help, but they didn't. We started with Dr. Gates for vision therapy and were so surprised how much our son really was missing as far as details of things and how his brain had to process things multiple times since his eyes were not working together. Dr. Gates was able to pin point the therapy for our son and so many things have improved since we have started and now finished the protocol. Our son has better coordination, better depth perception and is willing to read more since he has completed therapy with Dr. Gates. Little things like catching a football with his hands instead of his body, throwing a baseball, hitting a baseball, reading the smaller print of his Bible and using less movements to complete a task are just some of the things we have seen improvement in. He is also quicker with thinking through processes and carrying them out...before he thought a long time on things before he would act upon them, now he can think quicker on his feet so to say. Our son never once complained about having to go to his appointments and Dr Gates and his staff were so patient and kind as our son was working through the difficult things he had to. I would highly recommend Dr Gates to anyone. My husband and I had wished that we would have found Dr. Gates much earlier, but its never too late! Thank you Dr Gates, Elena, and your staff, we appreciate what you did for our son!
