Jerry is a true artisan and his parents can be proud of him continuing the family business and a tradition of excellent customer care. He listens and spends time making sure the client gets what is needed in each case - I, for one, needed a pair of office/computer glasses and he made them perfectly (see the picture below). I already had this specific brand in mind, but the shop carries many top brands of frames that you can try on to decide what feels, looks, and fits you the best. Since it was my first pair for myself, I did a bit of internet research and realized that optical work is quite complicated - glasses are a medical device and it is very important that they exactly match the prescription and also have a correct fit for them to work well for your purposes. At York Opticians you would feel like a VIP in the process and end up admiring the craftsmanship of the final product: all glasses are made on premises and all fit adjustments are made by Jerry when you pickup the pair - and, trust me, these do make the difference. It is a pleasure to see a professional who loves what he does, truly cares about his clients, and takes pride in his work.

I've never been here before as a patient, but work locally and needed a simple repair on my glasses. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile and they were able to get it done in no more than 2 minutes! I'm so happy I was able to get them fixed AND I didn't have to make an extra drive to do so. Such a lovely small business!

I got the most beautiful Lindberg glasses from here. It's a family business and the owners are very knowledgeable. They helped me decide on a frame that suited my face and prescription, and were able to special order a particular type of lens at a great price. I have family members who are retired optometrists and they were very impressed with the quality of their work. Would highly recommend.

I went in today for repairs on glasses I did not purchase there and they were wonderful in helping! Jerry took care of everything and was the kindest. He made sure everything fit properly and I'm very grateful for his help. Highly recommend.

Gerald York Opticians are the best! I requested that they replace the lens (non rx) in my old sunglasses including tinting the new lens. The result was perfect. The staff are professional, thorough and the turnaround time was quick. I will definitely be back for an eye exam and prescription reading glasses. Would highly recommend!

I have gone here for glasses since I was just a little kid. They still have a great selection of kid's glasses! The owner is so kind, he always asks after my family, who also gets glasses from there, and is so swift and professional with getting my glasses ready. I had to go a few times in middle and high school with very broken glasses and they fixed them up no problem right as I waited no extra charge! Even when I eventually move far away I intend to come back for my glasses and prescription updates, I don't know if I would trust anyone else with something as important as my sight!

The Eyeglass whisperer...No matter who else we try, we keep coming back to Jerry. I doubt I could describe all the reasons, but here are a few. His uncanny ability to pick out the perfect frame in 5 minutes (we often would waste 30 just getting to a bottom 3...). The choice of inventory he carries (crammed full of good choices). The art of service and the quality behind it, which is what you get when dealing with a trained technician and owner, vs hourly labor in a chain store. As an example, we often need adjustments. If we try one of the other shops, we are rarely happy, as the staff just doesn't have the training or the touch.. Jerry...2 minutes and they are right back to new. He even adjusts their mistakes for us. These valued skills are often lost in today's workforce...who by the way in places like Lenscrafters work on commissioned sales. Im not saying thats bad, but glasses are a medical thing. Maybe great for some conglomerates bottom line, but maybe not the best choice for the buyer... But the main reason is - lens production accuracy and quality. Its our eyes for goodness sake! No matter where we go using insurance, and we try several every year, as we have exceptional coverage (from the whole luxottica monopoly and Lenscrafters to the typical, pear vision, walmart, cosco...you name it). And every year they mess up whatever we buy. In the end, we get inexpensively priced prescription readers (often not too happy with lens quality) from our insurance, BUT everything else from Jerry. Interestingly, when you add up the bait and switch they use because you wouldnt survive the entry lens, he is still is typically within 10-15% of the out-of-pocket. So if your eyes matter...go to York and SEE Jerry :-).
