Ophthalmic Consultants of NJ - Michael Su, M.D.

I was recently referred to this office by my optometrist regarding a cataract issue, and I wanted to share how impressed I was with the experience. The entire staff was exceptional. The technicians were professional, thorough, and friendly while answering all of my questions. I especially want to recognize Louis and Kathie for their outstanding service. Hope I got their names right! Lol! I'm very pleased with the care I received and will definitely bring my wife here as a new patient. Thank you for providing such excellent service!

Dr. Su is a good doctor. However this rating is based on an experience at the office from his administration team. Specifically Luis - one of the most unprofessional and arrogant people I have ever met in the medical profession. His arrogance cost Dr. Su a loss of me as a patient and my wife. I waited for 2 days after escalating the issue to an office manager and requesting Dr. Su to reach out to discuss this matter. Unfortunately, Dr. Su did not see it as a pressing issue resulting in this review.

My mom has cataract surgery a month ago and I accompanied her to the hospital. I was surprised how quick the surgery went. My mom was also happy with the results because she did not feel pain. It has been 3 weeks and the follow up went well. Dr. Su is friendly in the short time I had with him. Not to mention how effective his staff is. I highly recommend him. I definitely keep him on my list of doctors.

Chaz is great! Communicated well and got things done quick! It was a pleasure working with him to get my lenses done for my glasses. 10/10 coming back again! :)

We have been to other ophthalmologists-he was better than the others . His office staff was excellent-polite helpful-no problems using my traditional Medicare & supplement-part F -so no copay or deductible. Exams were thorough & he was just a kind smart doctor

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE - Highly unprofessional office. Turned me away for an annual routine exam and demanded a $100 copay solely based on my family history, which is completely illegal. Seems like their focus is on their monetary compensation instead of the ethics of patient care.

Dr michael and his staff is amazing! You're greeted by the front desk who managed to squeeze me in for my eye emergency in the same day. She is very kind and personable both in person and on the phone. The doctors assistant Louis is very well mannered and listened to my situation with complete focus and care. When i saw Dr Michael, he has incredible bedside manner and actually takes the time to understand my eye issues and concerns alongside giving me advice. I will definitely be coming back in the future!!

Dr. Michael Su was recommended to me by a woman with whom I tutor together at a writing academy. She had cataract surgery about a year ago and everything seemed to go very well for her. When I knew without a doubt that I had developed quite a cataract (it was progressing quickly), I figured why do all of the research and reinvent the wheel when I could ask my colleague the name of the doctor with whom she had a good outcome. Dr. Su's staff are very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Lewis did a phenomenal job testing my sight and explaining the cataract the prep, procedure , and aftercare for the surgery. He provided everything in written form, as well, to make the prep and post op instructions easy to follow. He insisted that I may need glasses, especially reading glasses, after the healing. I have been wearing glasses since age 3. I am 64. I don't mind if I were to need a milder eyeglass prescription. I just need to see to drive because that's my ultimate freedom. Dr. Su was extremely professional at the surgery suite. My heart rate was below 60. They couldn't sedate me too much. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful. I know I talk a lot when nervous and he had to tell me to be quiet so I could stay still. I don't care! Whatever you say, doc. As long as I know he's a great ophthalmologist and surgeon, he can scold me in the name of doing the procedure correctly. I am going for follow-up. It's amazing to see without glasses. When I wake up, shower, go swimming it will seem so strange. Places where glasses don't go! I am pleased. I write a lot but it's good for people to read various opinions and reviews.
