I recently had laser-assisted cataract surgery for both eyes two weeks apart with amazingly good results. After wearing glasses for most of my life, I tested 20-20 after the surgeries without any glasses. Dr. Shnayder and his staff explained all the steps of the procedure, the choices of lens implants available, and the costs, such that I had confidence about going ahead with the procedures.

After having a terrible experience with cataract surgery years ago, I was hesitant to have my other eye done. A friend recommended Dr. Shnayder. Kudos to him and his team at Bergen-Passaic Cataract Surgery & Laser Center and to the staff at his office. He took time to explain the procedure and answered all my questions. 10 stars! Highly recommended!

This comment is more about my unwarranted procrastination and apprehension of having cataract and laser surgery performed ... my procedure should have been scheduled two years earlier but I foolishly hesitated ... my vision loss got progressively worse, and I found myself compensating unsuccessfully ... it seems I've always worn eyeglasses but after the surgery ... I'm now glasses free ... with my vision restored. Why did I wait so long? Dr. Shnayder was terrific, he's a highly professional individual, he and his staff took the time to answer all of my questions and thoroughly explain the upcoming surgical process ... they couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. The staff at the Bergen-Passaic Cataract Surgery & Laser Center in Fairlawn NJ where the surgery was performed by Dr. Shnayder was highly organized, professional and caring ... the facility was immaculate, the procedure was painless, and the outcome was exceptional. And finally ... Dr. Shnayder's personal follow up telephone call to my home the evening of my surgery to check on my status really says it all, the care and compassion for his patients sets him apart.

I have been seeing Dr. Shnayder for several years and he is knowledgeable and patient person. He answers all your questions and does not rush you. He has recently done both eyes with cataract, astigmatism and glaucoma issues and did a wonderful job. I recommend this practice. The staff is also great.

I went to see Eric Shnayder last year for severe dry eyes. After reading wonderful reviews I honestly couldn't understand why I had such a poor experience. Upon arrival to the exam room, he went directly to the chair in front of me without acknowledging me or introducing himself. Looking at his computer he said "so you're here for dry eyes??" And he said it so abruptly and at that point I was starting to wonder if I had done something wrong even prior to meeting this man. He inserted punctal plugs in both my eyes and I told him it was painful for me to look to my left and right, and he re-examined my eyes and said they fit perfectly and that this uncomfortable feeling would pass. I started driving home and i still couldn't look to my left or right without it feeling like a foreign body was in my eye-it was extremely painful so I called the office while pulling over and someone over the phone I can't remember who, said this feeling would indeed pass and to use my steroid eye medication. It was extremely unsafe for me to drive since I couldn't really check my blind spots so my husband came to get me thankfully. The next day I was still miserable and in so much pain and I ended up removing the punctal plugs myself and immediately felt relief. So basically undoing what I paid him to do because this size was not for me. I honestly don't know why I had such a bad experience with him. I'm a nurse and have seen some awful bedside manner from providers and this provider was by far the worst. Maybe he was having a bad day which is still no excuse for the money you spend to seek care especially at times like today. Majority of the patients in the waiting area were elderly and I can't even imagine sending my parents or grandparents here.

I'd like to give Dr. Shnayder ,his staff and the Bergen Passaic Laser Surgery Center an award for excellent service! I was never scared or worried because Dr.Shnayder explained my cataract ,laser and lens implants surgery perfectly! Dr. Shnayder is such an awesome Dr.! The Bergen/Passaic Laser Center was so professional,caring and even a little fun! The staff was excellent! I have only good things to say about my whole experience!! And... I CAN SEE CLEARLY WITHOUT GLASSES!! Fondly, Eileen R

I'm a new patient of Dr. Shnayder and I don't have enough words to explain how happy I am, he's awesome, very professional, and so is his staff. I was going to another practice for years and they kept postponing my eye surgery, my vision was just getting worse until I finally decided to get a second opinion and I can't be any happier since the day I walked into Dr. Shnyder's office. He answered all my questions and didn't rush me, he took his time to explain the surgical process. The staff at the Bergen-Passaic Cataract Surgery & Laser Center where the surgery was performed was highly professional, you felt at ease as soon as you walked in, every single person is very caring. Excellent staff! Dr. Shnayder calls the evening of the surgery to check up on you and that really shows the caring for his patients, I was really impressed. Dr Shnayder just removed two cataracts for me over a two month time period. He put in two toric lenses using the laser procedure. The surgery went well, no pain, no discomfort, and no surprises. My vision is unbelievable, whites are whiter, colors are brighter and my overall vision is fantastic. Don't know why I waited so long. Thank you Dr Shnayder for your very successful expertise. Anyone needing cataract surgery, I highly recommend using Dr Shnayder.
