The office staff are fine, and most of the doctors seem fine as well. However, the physical accessibility and safety of this location is a real concern. When we arrived at 10 a.m., the parking lot and entrance area were very icy, especially where patients step out of their cars. This office serves a large senior population, many using walkers and canes, and I felt genuinely concerned watching people struggle to get inside safely. There is a handicap ramp, but no automatic door opener, which makes access even harder for patients with mobility issues. This is a medical office--basic winter safety and accessibility should be a priority.

I would like to start by saying that Dr. Amy Wexler should not be working with children due to her lack of patience. During my three-year-old daughter's visit with Dr. Wexler, she repeatedly raised her voice and spoke to my daughter in an aggressive manner. My daughter was first tested using her left eye and completed that portion of the exam without any issues. However, when testing continued with her right eye, my daughter was unable to answer the question, "What do you see on the screen?" Instead of showing patience or adjusting her approach, Dr. Wexler demanded an answer in a loud tone and insisted that my daughter take a "wild guess." I informed Dr. Wexler that it was clear my daughter could no longer see what was on the screen. Although Dr. Wexler acknowledged that young children often struggle to maintain focus, my daughter had been cooperative earlier and was clearly trying to communicate that she could not see anymore. I asked Dr. Wexler to lower her tone and remain calm, as her behavior was upsetting my child. She responded by telling me that if I did not like her opinion, I could go elsewhere. The way my three-year-old daughter was treated while seeking care for her vision was completely unacceptable. Young children may be afraid or unable to clearly express what they are experiencing, which makes patience and compassion essential in pediatric care. I am sharing this so no other child or parent has to experience what we did. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Dr. Wexler for pediatric patients. I would not recommend anybody to take their children with Dr wexler.

At first, it was a little difficult to schedule an appointment because of my insurance (Medicaid), but once we got through that, the experience with South Jersey Eye Physicians was truly amazing. The front desk staff were kind, welcoming, and very efficient in getting us checked in. The doctor who examined my 9-month-old son's vision was absolutely wonderful patient, gentle, and so knowledgeable. She made the process smooth and comfortable, even for such a young baby. I'm very grateful for the care we received and can't wait to come back for his checkup!

Just a scam place to rip people off. They checked the insurance three times before appointment, making sure that the visit was covered by the insurance. Just after seeing the doctor they changed it in to self pay and asked me to pay for the visit which I payed. Now they are sending me bills to pay more which I will never pay. It's total scam

I've been a patient here for over 20 years. It's terrible that I have to leave a bad review because the providers at this office have always been excellent and I have loved every single one I've seen. Reception however, is a different story. I've run into random issues with them and the billing department for a long time but nothing that couldn't be resolved until now. I didn't realize my contact lens prescription expired - a year ago - and so I had to make an appointment for an exam in order to buy contacts again. No big deal to me and I take full blame for not keeping track. BUT it would've been nice if someone had called (like most offices do) to remind me to make an exam appointment. My other concern is with reception today. She refused to believe me when I said my insurance company doesn't provide eye insurance cards and would need the number in order to make an appointment. If you have IBX PPO be warned. This is the second time they have given me push back, despite using this insurance at my last appointment. I realize this can be confusing to most people but you are working at a medical office, take two seconds to ask your colleague to confirm this is indeed how some insurance plans work. Not only was this frustrating but the receptionist had such a bad attitude about it. If you're reading this you may want to consider stress relief to help with your negative attitude. I have now switched to a different eye provider and they had no issue scheduling me with my current insurance.

I am a person that does not like to leave reviews unless the service is terrible. I made a same day appointment because my eyesight is getting worse. I was offered two available appointments with Dr. Miller at 2:40 pm and 3:20 pm. I requested the 3:20 pm appointment. When I park in the parking lot I received a call that I was late and I told the person on the phone that I had went to the wrong parking lot but that I was outside and walking in the building. She said that I was almost an hour late because my appointment was at 2:40 and I told her that I was offered that appointment but I had not taken it because I knew I wouldn't make it on time. I walk in and the receptionist that was there tried to see if I can be seen since I explained that it was not my fault that their staff had scheduled me for the wrong time. When he came back he said that they were not able to see me today and that they would have to reschedule me. I explained that it was not my fault but the staff member's fault for scheduling me for the wrong time. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that there was no manager on site until tomorrow morning. The receptionist offered to reschedule me, but I told the receptionist that I would not reschedule and left. I understand the receptionist couldn't do anything about it, but whoever he talked to in the back should have had the courtesy to at least come out and talk to me and say that they were sorry. Great reviews on google and poor customer service from higher staff. Thanks to the receptionist that tried to help.

My son's experience has always been good. However, this review is due to the billing practices. The price recently DOUBLED for my son's regular medical eye appointment. We called the billing department. They said "absolutely nothing changed" and blamed the insurance company and our high deductible. Called the insurance. Insurance said that the only thing that changed is that the doctor's office recently REQUESTED A DIFFERENT RATE with the insurance. So, yes, technically, the office didn't change the "price," but they did renegotiate the rate, which was passed on to us. So either the billing department doesn't understand how insurance works, or just lied. I'll assume the best. But I am looking for a different doctor. If you want to keep patients, maybe at least give them a courtesy notice before increasing the price on them.
