Terrible customer service from a new employee at Negro & Senft Eye Associates.
I have been a patient at this practice for years, going every six months due to an eye disease. It is critical for me to be seen by a retina specialist for early-onset macular disease.
I called the office to ask a very simple and important question: Is Dr. Del Negro a retina specialist? This was especially important because I was reassigned to Dr. Del Negro after Dr. Glatman abruptly left the practice.
The woman I spoke with was extremely rude, spoke over me repeatedly, and did not directly answer my question. Instead, she focused on telling me that my appointment had been canceled and that emails and phone calls had been sent. I made it clear that I was not calling about my appointment. I was calling specifically to confirm whether Dr. Del Negro is a retina specialist.
I tried multiple times to redirect the conversation, explaining that due to my macular condition, seeing a retina specialist is medically necessary. She continued talking over me and said, "Ma'am, I'm trying to answer your question," even though she wasn't.
She then mentioned that she was new, said they had a new retina specialist (she struggled to pronounce the doctor's name), and said that specialist is only in the office twice a month. I reiterated that my question was simple and should have been easy to answer. I also told her, respectfully, that her customer service was terrible and needed significant improvement.
She was snippy front the minute I said hello and what my name was. She focused on the new doctor and repeated the new retina specialist's name and limited availability. I informed her that I would not be returning to this practice, as I have never been treated so rudely by a medical office. She then hung up on me after saying, "live and love."
Dr. Glatman was an exceptional retina specialist. I continued seeing her every six months even when the practice did not accept my insurance because she was honest, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She identified a serious issue and performed a procedure that helped preserve vision in one of my eyes. I am very disappointed that she is no longer seeing macular patients at her new location.
Based on this experience from Del Negro & Sendt I would not recommend this practice.
First I would like to say that I've been seeing Dr. Senft since 2010 and never had an issue,i was totally satisfied! Fast forward to 12/18/25, i had an appt in Brick to see another dr. I received a call stating that the doctor would not be coming in at all , i need to make a new appt - ok, no problem.
New appointment is 12/24 9am- I missed my exit on the Parkway so I called the office and apologized profusely- I would be 8 minutes late. The person who took my call was quite abrupt and told me that they had a busy morning and they couldn't allow one patient the first patient of the day to mess up their entire schedule. You will have
to reschedule.-I was so angry I couldn't talk and I knew that it was best that I just end the call.
Why is it that my time has no value-
I don't understand why it was OK for them to cancel my appointment on the 18th but they couldn't allow me eight minutes of consideration. I have to say that this person was very unprofessional and for that matter very disrespectful in the way she spoke to me.

This office canceled my appointment without notice - even though it had been scheduled (2) months earlier. I left work early, only to arrive to an empty parking lot at their office in Brick. When I called their other office, instead of receiving an apology, their Office Manager proceeded to admonish me, and accused me of not listening to my voicemail. I have never, in my life, been spoken to by a medical staff member as she spoke to me. She couldn't acknowledge the fact that she obviously left a voicemail on the wrong number, but instead, to deflect her own mistake, proceeded to vehemently blame me for not listening to my messages. A cyst developed on my eyelid a few days after my last appointment at this office. I have been on multiple medications for it but it won't go away. i was hoping that Dr. Carniglia would be able to help me, but, after the way I was treated, I will never go this office again. In conclusion, I was told the reason for the cancellation was because Dr. Carniglia is on vacation this week.
Dr. Senft is great, but they keep canceling my appointments. With the issues I have with my eyes, I am supposed to be seen every 6 months. I was last seen in February 2024. My subsequent appointments have been canceled and soonest they could be rescheduled is April 2025. I am going elsewhere because of this.
I found talking to this office staff confusing and that the people who took the phone calls the first time were very impatient. Not the best scenario for a senior citizen who is simply looking to get an eye exam and trying to figure out if they took my insurance. My primary doctor's office actually told me they do, and that is why I called them in the first place. I am now moving on to the next place even after four phone calls to them and my insurer and still not being sure if they do or do not take my insurance because of conflicting information I got from this office. They could be a little more helpful and they could consider the fact that we don't all work in medical offices and understand these things so well. Instead they make people like me feel more frustrated and give me more work to do. Its hard enough to manage all this stuff when the people are nice, this woman was not. She spoke down to me.
Complete success!!! My 82 year old deaf father met Dr. Senft November 2021. Dr. Senft diagnosed my dad with mature cataracts in each eye. We put ourselves in his very capable hands and now my dad can see again. In just a few months , my father got his life back. How do you thank someone who has restored your vision? We recommend him highly and thank him and his staff for kindness, patience and professionalism.
I am not rating the doctor because we never saw her. My husband and I booked what we were told were back to back appointments 3:00 and 3:30, we arrived at 2:50 to fill out necessary forms for new patients. After waiting 45 minutes I asked at the desk how much longer it would be before we see the doctor. She told me they were very behind ( which We would of appreciated being told when we arrived) but I was next, however my husband had 2 patients ahead of him after me! I asked how that was possible because we came together and had back to back appointments. At that point it was close to 4pm and we were out of there!! My question is, how many patients do they see in a half hour? Are appointments given every 10 minutes, way too factory like for us!
