I am extremely displeased with the experience I just had at this Visionworks location. I took an hour off work to attend an eye appointment. I checked in and sat waiting for the next hour. Other customers were serviced and no one touched base with me about why I had been sitting there for so long. I finally went to an available associate and informed her I hadn't had my exam yet. She checked with the exam assistant, who just said she hadn't scrolled up on her appointment tablet and didn't realize I was waiting for an hour. It was like they didn't know what to do with me at that point. No one apologized to me or offered to reschedule me. I stood awkwardly in the front of the store and no one acknowledge me further so I walked out. At that point it was 5pm and I had to pick my child up from daycare. I am a full time working mom, and I can't believe I took an hour off of work for absolutely nothing. I will never use this Visionworks ever again.

Absolutely terrible. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but this place is awful. Please find somewhere else to go! They gave me 2 boxes of daily trial contacts to try, THEY EXPIRED 2 YEARS AGO! The dr put a pair in my eye before I left. Not only that ... but the box which should have had 5 daily contacts in it had Only ONE contact in it!!! Meaning someone else opened it!!! After multiple calls to the Supervisor to tell him the Dr gave me expired contacts she comes on the phone to say " I hear the precisions are giving you a headache!" Omg. What???!! Because they expired! She says I don't have that brand not expired I'll give you another brand BUT you have to come in for ANOTHER exam and then come back for a follow up to order!! Then we can order contacts. The girl up front already used my insurance allowance to order the other contacts which shouldn't have been done until I saw Dr for a follow up. They are unprofessional, unorganized, and now I have no contacts and eye irritation due to 2 years old expired contacts!!! And had to pay out of pocket for fitting and additional pictures. Worst place ever! I honestly cant believe they're a running business.

Unfortunately, they don't allow you to rate lower than one. I was there yesterday and the service was rude.
The eye doctor was harried, curt and most importantly incorrect.
The "doctor?" didn't identify herself and had me thinking I had an emergency situation. She also told me that my eyes could no longer be better than 20/25 with glasses.
I raced to a retina specialist who told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my eyes and I had 20/20 vision in both of them.
The help staff was also terrible. Three people tried to take scans of my eyes and they couldn't do it.
The help staff I went to the next day at a local specialist could do all of those scans and more with no problem.
Run away from this place. I used to go there every year -- it has gone downhill.

It was my first time visiting Visionworks, and I was very pleased. The service I received was excellent. I only had a short wait time. Both the tech and the doctor were very nice, they explained everything, and I received a very comprehensive exam. I have VSP insurance, so the check out was simple. They have an awesome selection of frames at various price points. I have a lag in my insurance from exam to when I can purchase frames, but I will be sure to return to Visionworks. I highly recommend!

I had a good experience at this store. Everyone was friendly and professional!
I do feel like some of the front desk associates should review the preliminary testings and some of the options / swap ins for what can be done ( pictures vs dilation ). I had my pictures done before seeing a doctor, and the doctor was going to additionally dilate my eyes (from my understanding after talking to the doctor, it is not needed, it is one or the other & pictures are preferable for history record). Not a huge issue, but if I hadn't asked my doctor, I would have wasted 30+ minutes.
My doctor was great - attentive & wanted to get me what I needed. In the future, I would prefer a slower experience, as I had questions about the dilation & felt rushed to get it done - especially since I didn't actually need it.
The gentleman that helped me buy frames and lenses was great as well - patient & guided me through what kinds of lenses, add ons, & frames I needed & informed me of what my insurance would cover as well as timing for frames pick up.

I would highly recommend this Vision Works facility from the moment I walked through the door, the eye exam, frame selection and final processing of the entire sale was above bar. I was handled by very professional and knowledgeable staff members and my eye exam was performed extensively by an extremely experienced doctor. Very impressed because it was the best eye exam that I have ever had done. Thank you for great service and trained staff.

I want to give ZERO stars! This was the second time I came to this location and both times my experience was HORRIBLE! The first time I waited over an hour pass my appointment time for an eye exam! The second time was a contact lens follow up and again waited an hour pass my appointment time! The front office is so rude! One lady just sits there on her phone and when I asked her why was I waiting so long she says you are not an exam you are a follow up! Obviously I know what I'm here for! She proceeded to repeat herself! I told her I know what a follow is! That makes no sense that "because I'm a follow up" I'm waiting so long! This will be the last time I come to this place! Just Horrible!

Went to vision works in rockaway for the first time. The doctor and staff were efficient and took the time to explain the tests I was going through. The doctor then took her time doing a thorough eye exam and made her recommendations that didn't make me feel pressured. I will be back next year!
