Though I was not a fan of the low rating or AI assistant that answered the phone, I was willing to give Visionworks a try because they are really close to my house. The AI assistant couldn't help me (it could not answer a simple question) so I asked to speak to office staff.
This review is largely dedicated to the office staff member who said her name is "Jasa."
When I called yesterday I was in excruciating pain and nearly blind from an eye trauma plus hadnt slept in 2 days due to the pain (my 1 year old about clawed my eyeball out with her sharp baby claws...lol). Jasa was very cold and argued with me saying I have Medicaid (I do not - she seems to think there is only employer benefit plans vs Medicaid and doesn't seem to realize there are private plans through Get Covered NJ, which she thinks is Medicaid) and that she could not make the appointment without me reading her my card numbers. I explained it is Blue Cross Blue Shield not Medicaid and that I cannot see, I am in excruciating pain when I try to see, it was hard for me to even make the call to speak to her, I said I have my card and can bring it in for my appointment the next day. She said she needs to run the card to make the appointment. Her condescending, cold, fake-peppy, nonchalant, unhelpful tone/manner made me not want to come in or deal with her ever again, so I decided to just say nevermind then goodbye, figuring I will get an appointment elsewhere with an office that is easier to deal with (which thankfully I did - much more understanding, card info upon arrival is just fine there)
Then today I could see waaay better out of my good eye (the baby only hit one eye but for some reason my good eye was suuuuuuper light sensitive yesterday, couldn't see with it either til today) I saw I had text messages from Visionworks saying I have an appointment. As far as I knew she could not schedule it. I called them and it was Jasa again, snippy like yesterday, cheerfully confirmed it was canceled. I decided to mention she had an awful attitude yesterday, and I could hear her smiling on the phone as she said something along the lines of "okay, thanks" (not exactly sure her word choice, but it was to that affect).
Anyway, sorry for the poor review if the doctor(s) there are decent. Your office staff is the face of your business though, and reflect on you, I see I am not alone in poor critique of them so perhaps retraining or reassessment of who will represent your office is in order. I'm sure if you had better office staff your review would be higher. As it stands, I would rather drive 40 minutes to a different office to deal with different staff than 5 minutes to deal with yours.
I've been going to this location for several years. I never had a problem once. I went to pick my glasses up on Wednesday. The two women that were There shouldn't work with the public honestly. As soon as I tried my glasses on, it was as if they had completely screwed my script up and given me somebody else's glasses. The woman who was there to show me the glasses basically didn't say a thing when I said several times these are not my glasses. You guys screwed my glasses up. Not a sorry, nothing. I told them that I Would not take the glasses because they are not correct all three pairs, including my Own frames that I brought in to have new lenses put in. I was actually able to see out of those glasses. The lenses were just scratched. I asked where the manager was. They told me the manager wasn't there. I said you need to have the manager call me. It is now two days later, Nobody has called me. Nobody cares but they have my 300+ dollars.. I will be making a complaint to corporate. I will also be disputing this with my credit card company. I am so disgusted with this location and its employees and their apathetic attitudes. I'm almost positive that the individual that input all of my information into the iPad that had TALONS on her fingers that were 3 inches long, probably input my script wrong into the iPad... It took her forever because she kept on making error errors with her long fingernails... Seriously, hire some professional people at this location because it's outrageous how unprofessional this transaction was and how I was treated. I have never ever had this happen in 40 years of wearing glasses.
I usually love this place! However, not right now! Thursday I had an 11:40 appointment, I arrived at 11:30. I waited till 12:20 & then asked how long it would be before I was seen. The person before me just went in, so that was going to be another 20/30 minutes. Then my appointment would be 12:40!!!!!!!! 12:40 is not 11:40! That ran into my next dr appointment!!
They accommodated my rescheduling but that doesn't excuse the fact I had to reschedule! 20 minutes is 1 thing an hour is WAY too long.
I booked appointments for my son & daughter 20 minutes apart. When we arrived, it took the front desk approx 15 minutes to run my insurance & then they took my daughter in for her exam. When she came out they failed to tell me they bumped my son's appt due to new customers coming in. Not sure if they purposely overbook on a regular basis. The manager left early & the girl in charge was extremely rude. Just kept asking if I was ready to check out. I mentioned multiple times that I would complete checkout once my son was finished with his exam. That's when they finally sprung it on me that they may not be able on to see him. 30+ more minutes passed before I was able to receive confirmation that they couldn't hold their appointment properly. No apology or anything. I purposely booked these appts on my day off of work for convenience. Now I need to juggle my schedule again to accommodate their incompetence. My wife had an issue when she came where they filled the wrong eyeglass prescription as well. Not worth giving this place a chance. They need to strip it down from the top and start over.
Both my Mom and I came to the Visionworks in Succasunna for our annual eye exam and to both order glasses. We both had the pleasure of working with Alison to decide which frames to order for ourselves. It is so apparent how much Alison enjoys helping other people find their frames and providing assistance in any way she can. Alison took the time to sit down with us, provide us with several options, no matter how long it took, and provided genuine feedback for our benefit. She went above and beyond to help us, made us comfortable, and guide us through the whole process. We are so grateful to her and all the staff onsite!
I have been a long time patient of VisionWorks in Succasunna. I was able to make a quick appointment on their website that corresponded with my schedule. When I walked in, the staff was very accommodating and professional. The Doctor took a special interest in getting the correct prescription. I have seen the level and quality of care only improve through the years.
Dr. Como is fantastic! She was kind and courteous and gave my son a thorough eye exam! I highly recommend her!
The pre exam nurse was great. The women who did the other things were not so much. They very loudly were talking about men they would date and who is on the market very loudly without even caring for the customers. It's just a pet peeve of mine. If customers are here, look busy. But everyone else was awesome. The doctor who did the exam was very knowledgeable and nice. Overall a good experience and I would also tell others to come here but I would warn them to beware of current men gossip.
