Visited the Walmart Vision Center at the Teterboro location for the first time because I had moved and this location was nearer than my prior Walmart location. My glasses had broken but were under warranty. I had also called my prior Walmart Vision Center about my broken glasses and they confirmed that I could take my glasses to be repaired at any Walmart Vision location. They also confirmed the order number for me to provide to the alternative Walmart location. At the Walmart Vision Center at Teterboro, the representative, David, attending to me did not seem happy when he realized that my glasses frame and prescription had been through another Walmart location. Although I had the warranty, while he was looking up the information, he made the comment that it would have been easier if I went back to the former location as he had to put through the full order in his system. I replied that the former location was another 46 minutes away, (and over an hour from where I moved). He didn't respond. He put through the order without having much to say. My observation is that he considered this more of an inconvenience for him rather than the convenience for the customer having to drive further away when the warranty could be processed by any Walmart Vision Center location, and the fact that I had selected a closer location to me.
While the atmosphere outside in the general customer service area on a Sat afternoon seemed heavy and glum with the 2 representatives there, (maybe try a different day where other representatives are available based on some of the other reviews?), the saving grace was the young man whom I met in the optician's section, when I went inside to make an eye appointment. He was very personable and friendly.
I also looked around at the available selection of frames to get an idea of my potential options and this location has a nice selection. I will have to return to pick up my replacement frames and I read good reviews for the optician there, so I will see what that experience will be, and depending on the outcome, I may update this review.
Chris is very patient and helpful. Getting glasses can take time and many questions, especially about insurance. Chris was eager to help and doesn't make you feel rushed. They have a nice selection of reasonably priced frames.
Dr.Angel is the best, she takes her time doing the examination with my daughters, Explains everything in details. Very knowledgeable and great bedside manners.
Joni, Chris and Ronal, they are very helpful with insurance. Thank you for the great service.
Okay, first second and third of all, Cris is AWESOME. Not only was he a great help to me, he was exceptionally kind to my very young daughter and made what could have been a tedious wait for her rather fun. You know you can find good products at good prices at Walmart, regardless of what you think of their corporate top. They've got plenty of selection to choose from, their prices are good, but seriously, go there for Cris. In general, it seemed like nice people working there, so you've got wide selection at good prices so far as the different glasses they have, and you've got great service, so what are you waiting for?
I had a horrible exprience. I went to the location at Tererboro airport NJ. They had me signed a waver if they break my frame if I bring one, they will not be responsible. I had a frame cost me $1200. I went yestreday Friday to insall the lenses that I have order, I told the guy to be careful because it is an expensive frame, believe it or not he broke my frame, and the other guy threaten me with the waver I signed that they are not responsible ??? they glue my frame, and now I can't see properly, and I will never go back again. They charged me $280.00 for the lenses. They should at least give me my money back but they don't care. Apperantly, they have a form like that because they don't hire proffessionals. Someone adviced me to go to the Media and to BBB and file a complaint !
I'm beyond disappointed with my recent experience at Walmart Vision Center. The staff seemed overwhelmingly unhappy, which set the tone for the entire visit.
We arrived 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday to get glasses for my son. A woman named Onita, who had braces, greeted us with an immediate air of annoyance. It was clear from the first moment that she was counting down the minutes until she could go home.
We asked her to help us, but she instantly said the system was too slow and we would have to come back tomorrow. She didn't even attempt to use the system to check; her main concern seemed to be the risk of having to stay 5-10 minutes past her shift. When I told her we came in before closing and that she should help, especially because a child was involved, she began arguing with me, saying she also has a kid and needs to go see him, claiming that we wouldn't make it by 5pm.
I said, "If you need to work longer, then that's what you get paid for," to which she shockingly replied, "No, I don't get paid for that." So listen up, Walmart--if you're really not paying your employees for overtime, that's on you and it's disgraceful. If you are, then Onita's refusal to spend an extra few minutes to assist a customer, forcing me to take time off work on Monday, is on her.
Please, Walmart, stop employing people who are clearly unhappy and counting down the minutes until they can go home. If your official closing time is 5pm, then maybe your staff should expect to stay until 5:30pm so no one else has to go through what I experienced. We're not talking about some random shop; this is Walmart! I expected to be able to trust the service here. Truly a shame.
I used to use them until I went in here to get tested for glasses and contacts. The doc gave me some samples and said to come back in like 2 weeks. Even though i had already worn contacts before. Why does it take 2 visits to test my eyes?
Life happened and I didn't make it back there until 3 months after. They told me I lost the money [<$200] I paid and refused to give me a printout of my glasses prescription. But would be happy to sell me glasses using said prescription.
So I went to costco next door and paid $85 (no membership card required) for test and full printout of prescription. Then just popped it in on Zenni.com and ordered my glasses for $50 total. I've got like 3 different pairs now.
This place is just ripping off poor people.
I want to say thank you to Jonida she was so sweet and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend anyone go see her at Angel Eyecare LLC in Walmart optical.
