Beacon Eye Center

Everyone was wonderful! They have the whole thing down to a science! Dr Jachens is EXCELLENT! I cannot rave enough! His entire office including Margot are great! And Jessica A. Who signed me in at surgical center went above and beyond in making me and everyone there comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My review is only for Dr. Heta Patel. First, I want to say that the young lady at the front desk was very lovely, and the woman who examined my daughter before the doctor came in was amazing with her. She made my daughter laugh the entire time. The office itself is also very clean and welcoming. This was our first visit, and my daughter saw Dr. Heta Patel. During the appointment, I politely explained that my daughter often asks for my phone, and I was hoping the doctor could support me by reinforcing that it's not good for her eyes to watch a phone or TV from a very close distance. I simply said something along the lines of, "See, the doctor says no phone or watching TV too closely because it can damage your eyes, right doctor?" Unfortunately, Dr. Patel reacted in a very rude and dismissive way. She said, "No, we don't do that here. I'm a doctor. She can watch phones, TV, and read books." I tried to clarify that we already read books daily and allow limited TV time, but that the issue is my child asking for the phone constantly and that it affects her behavior. Her response was that being a doctor is different from parenting. The way she said this came across as very dismissive and frustrated. Her demeanor with us was poor, and the interaction felt unnecessarily rude. In my opinion, she did not handle the situation well, especially considering she works with young children. It was disappointing to have that experience during our first visit.

After a move, I was recently referred over to this practice from my retina doctor for dry eye syndrome, a follow up on a cataract issue and a corneal abrasion. Dr Patel immediately put me at ease and treated my dry eye with complete success despite my case being complicated. She is amazing! I also met with Dr Jachens. He patiently explained my condition and offered a solution to an eye issue I'd been having for years and resolved it completely. I feel less anxiety now with my eye condition because these eye doctors had innovative treatments to eye issues that I had gone to other eye drs with but had gotten no results. I would strongly recommend Beacon Eye Center. Thanks again!

The staff at Beacon Eye Center were very professional, friendly, kind, and considerate. Margot, the Surgical Coordinator, answered all my questions and concerns with kindness, consideration, and thoroughness. Dr. Jachens made me very comfortable and went out of his way to answer all questions clearly and with patience and positivity. I would highly recommend Dr. Jachens and The Beacon Eye Center to anyone!

Dr. Jachens and his staff are great. They're very knowledgeable and will answer any questions that you might have, and will do their utmost to help you with any eye related issues that you might have.
