Dr. Romeu Eye Associates provides excellent, professional care in a calm and welcoming environment. Dr Gurdak is thorough, patient, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. The staff is kind, efficient, and respectful of your time. I left feeling reassured and well cared for. Highly recommended.

My four-year-old son has had two appointments now, and on both occasions, Dr. Gurak was incredibly thorough, patient, and kind. He truly has a gift for putting children at ease, a quality that I deeply appreciate. The entire experience was positive and efficient, from check-in to check-out. Outstanding staff and services! I have been attending Dr. Romeu Eye Associates for over a decade and they have never let me down. They show true concern and care when attending your needs, giving you options, and guiding you in the right way. I have been using their Orthokeratology services for years upon years and have never even considered switching doctors. I don't know what I would do without Ortho-K, it has made me confident!

I don't review much, but this was the best eye visit I had, dr. Gurdak was super thorough and detailed with all his test and explained everything and made sure I understood! Ariana and Vivian were super accommodating and friendly and helped me pick the PERFECT glass frame and options.

Disclaimer: This review is not intended to discredit the doctor or staff at this location or my experience in terms of the Doctor's credentials. The doctor was professional and very knowledgeable. My problem and thus the 1 star is about the business practice followed by this office with regards to patients having vision insurance or lack of thereof. I have medical insurance but no vision. I went to see the doctor using my medical insurance, paid $40 copay for the visit. Had a bunch of tests done including the eye exam. ( I've worn glasses all my life so I know what an eye exam is) after that 1st visit I asked for my prescription and I was told they can't give a prescription until I do an eye exam. Long story short I had to come back the next day pay another $40 copay plus $100 for the doctor to do exactly the same eye exam he did on my first visit. Still after paying a total of $180 combined I only had the prescription for eye glasses and the office wanted me to come back yet again for another exam for contact lenses. The other aspect of this business is the outrageous price on their eyewear. $600 dollars to put lense on my existing frame. Again this is not a reflection of the Doctor's credentials but their business practice in my opinion is shady and a rip-off to say the least. I'm thinking that if I would have had vision insurance this office will have charged both the medical insurance as well as the vision insurance plus my copay, Milking the insurance to the end. This is a perfect example why insurance premium are so high and why companies like Target, Walmart and others are putting Doctor offices such as this one out of business. My advise to anyone reading this lengthy review, if you are looking for affordable eye Care place don't come to this office. America's Best contacts and Eyeglasses in Edgewater Commons charges $89 eye exam and contacts exam and this includes a two week trial period of contact. I wish I knew this earlier. Well, lesson learned. Hope you don't make the same mistake.
