Second visit. Ask to pay 75.00 of my part B deductible. I have origional medicare plus a medigap plan. Or not be seen. Dr.Mittica accepts medicare assignment. I spoke with medicare plus the agent who sold me my medigap plan and intervenes on my behalf because things are so bad in health care. This practice violated medicare rules. The consequences are I have to be seen at another provider. Appointment made. Dr Mittica wanted me to be seen by a retina specialist in Tucson AZ. I found another retina specialist in Show Liw AZ. I asked 5 times for the referral to be seen. It was never done then my second appointment resulted in what I described above.

Over the years that my family and I have been receiving care at Gila Eyecare I have come to realize that Dr. Mittica is more than a gifted Ophthalmologist. Dr. Mittica has a deep concern for people and their well being. He has come out after hours when we had eye emergencies, sought to find answers when other issues affected the eyes, and continues to be acutely aware of his patients health. I trust Gila Eyecare with all of our most precious gift... the gift of sight!

Dr. Mittica, his wife, and all of his staff are always professional and caring. Once we started here, we never wanted to go anywhere else for eye care. Dr. Mittica has a lot of insight and is very thorough in his exams, and has always gone the extra mile to treat my husband and myself surgically and in the office. Incredible team! We would travel here from anywhere in the state just to get this level of eye care!

I have been a patient with Gila Eyecare for many years. Dr. Mittica takes the time to explain his findings and the options for addressing them. The office and technician teams are friendly and helpful. The addition of the eye glasses service makes for a well rounded eye care establishment.

Bad review!!! Less than a star Does not work with patient especially if he's wrong. I know my moms eyes change throughout time and eventually will need surgeries but not right now. Unnecessary surgery but doesn't care or have empathy for his patients. Even the specialist said we didn't need surgery maybe after the removal of her cataract. So he no longer wants my mom as a patient. Oh well. He's not god!!! Your done. Do better. These were stressful unnecessary, emotional, situations for my mother that were unprofessional and uncaring that she did not have to endure. God bless you Dr Mittica !

I rate this as the poorest run office I have ever seen. They say they will call you back but never do. Eventually after numerous called to them I acquired an appointment for my 89 year old mother. After a struggle for her to get to the appointment and into the office, we were told that her appointment had been cancelled and said they had called me. I never received a call from their office. Now they refuse to see her since she has Medicaid. They had agreed to see her when the appointment was scheduled. The staff in the office cannot do anything without first consulting Shannon, the doctor's wife. I had planned to use Dr. Mittica as my own eye doctor, but after this experience with my mother, I plan to go elsewhere as well. I have heard good reports about Dr. Mittica, but the way their office is run has turned me totally against this doctor.

I waited 2 months for an appointment and after filling out the preliminary paperwork I was asked to step into a small closed room for eye diagnostics. The room had just been heavily sprayed with disinfectant aerosol. Upon closing the door my asthma kicked in and I spoke of my difficulty breathing and could they open a window temporarily (56 degrees and sunny outside). The young lady said no and stared me down. I asked for a minute and exited the room leaving the door open to air it for a bit. There was a ceiling fan on so I felt encouraged to try again especially since I waited 2 months for this appointment. Still unable to breathe, I said I would have to leave. She brusquely asked if I had my inhaler and I did not (my mistake). Still brusque, the young lady asked how I paid and spoke of a refund.i am concerned about the use of a spray disinfectant in a closed room, but I am more concerned with her attitude of zero care in a health practitioner's office. I would not recommend this eye clinic.

I was in Dr Mitica's Office for another reason and just happened to mention something I was experiencing with my left eye. Dr Mittica immediately had me tested, examined me and diagnosed the issue. He stayed late (after hours) to help me on the spur of the moment. I'm extremely grateful for his and his staff's expertise and willingness to fit me in to an already busy day!
