I purchased 2 pairs of glasses here. The experience overall was mediocre, which would be ok except that this is a very expensive shop - that means I expect better. The quality control was unfortunately also not what it should have been. For the price, I expect flawless quality. The specifics: top dollar paid for 2 pairs of high-end designer frames with the the very best high-end progressive lenses. Also ordered: magnetic clip-ons. This was on the advice of the optician, who noted the advantages of the magnetic variety. They had to be ordered in advance so that the magnets could be built into the otherwise incompatible frames. Unfortunately what I received were physical clip (not magnetic) clip-ons. Not the same. Finally, I received: NO response to my emailed complaint. I did not bother to write this review until more recently I needed new glasses and purchased them from a different optician. As part of the process they checked the lenses I was wearing - the ones made for me by Optyx - and so I learned that these lenses exhibited a significant variance of a half diopter from the ordered prescription. I don't know how much of a discrepancy is within the standards of Optyx, but I think this is too much. So, incorrect product, inaccurate prescription, and no response to my complaint. Two stars.

The front office person when I arrived was distant and rude. Felt like I was being judged for sometime but I could tell what. The doctor was nice and kind. She informative, but they selected contacts not covered by my insurance without telling me at first. When asked about why I was getting charged for the exam beyond my copay, they said my insurance didn't cover contact lens exams. I had to research this with my insurance because that didn't sound correct and discovered it was the doctor's selection of contact lenses that led to the charge, but my choice to have an exam and fitting done. When calling back, the staff seemed to think I was being inconsiderate wanting to use my insurance to pay for my services. It took over an hour on the phone to finally get someone to acknowledge they can order contacts on my insurance instead and refund the extra charge.

If you're a family, this is NOT the place for you. Their store policy is to NOT schedule appointments for 3 or more family members on the same day! That is just blatant bias against families! I will be spending my money elsewhere that is more family friendly. Just feel they wouldn't want to do anything to make the customer experience any better. Wouldn't expect in-store service to be any better.
