Costco Optical Department

11/16/24 Update : Just picked up my new prescription glasses today. Nancy has retired recently, and I was lucky to have the new manager Megan(?) did the excellent fitting. I have a very low and narrow bridge on my nose, Megan really took the time to make sure all contact points are just right, and also patiently explain to me why certain parts need to be re-adjusted even I thought all was very well done already. She also changed all my nose pads to smaller silicone ones that will make less wrinkles and pressure to my nose area. Kudos also goes to the other lady (wear glasses with short blonde hair, need to recall her name) that took the time and effort to picked perfect frames for me based on my face shape/color, pupil and temple distance. I cannot be happier with the whole experience. Looking forward to visit the vision center next year! Could not understand those <= 3-star reviews -- Costco Optical Department at Holbrook is one of the best in Long Island in my 20years+ glasses purchase experience. Manager Nancy is the best in fitting all sorts of glasses/frames including progressive glasses. Had fairly bad experience at the Nesconset store -- none of the staff/manager there are trained well to fit/recommend frames for my family (of four). If you experience discomfort with your glasses/frames after repeated adjustments elsewhere, try Nancy at Holbrook to see the difference.

Went for my first eye exam in years and was pleasantly impressed with the service and results from the secretary and the Doctor. She explained everything and would recommend Costco Holbrook to everyone.

If ZERO was an option that would be my rating. I had an issue with my recent order and no one from the optical dept picked up a phone for 2 days. The email address is not working properly. Emails bounce back. The main number finally connected me to Jen who was extremely snarky and condescending after I waited two days to speak to someone. I HIGHLY recommend you go anywhere else than to the Holbrook Optical Dept.

They were rude and unreasonable. Had two appointments for eye tests with them at 4.00 and 4.30 pm for both my daughters. Got 15 mins late because of traffic and reasons beyond my control. They refused to take one of them. It was not an issue until to our surprise another person showed up at 4.30 and they took her in along with one of my daughters. Very frustrating to find such a behavior within a professional organization like Costco. Costco owns the responsibility and must ensure they are respectful and reasonable since this is located within their premises.

Poor customer service, only fair one is the African American man. The women are not ready to help you select a frame, ignores you and the skinny one is racist. The selection is narrow and outdated. Costco used to have good brands and extensive selection not anymore. The major thing is the lackluster attitude to work, turn lights off at 5:40pm because they want to leave! Hours was supposed to be till 6pm.

I got an appointment for Dr Horowitz for the following day. I had never seen her but she was outstanding! She gave me a thorough exam and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommended her if you need a vision exam!

I must say , first - I never complain-But I went to Costo Eye Center in Hollbrook on a Saturday and by Tuesday I had pink Eye about 6 month aga , after trying many glass on , it happens!!! Next I bought pair sun glass and they broke, so I went back to get fixed or replaced but rude lady at counter told me to call Oakley. But this is what made me write this review.I showed up 12 minutes late for eye exam- Last one of the day 5:30 big accident in front of Costco after leaving work early. The same rude lady told me Dr Pilitari could not see me and come back another day .She could not wait 12 minutes.I may be wrong .But after spending 38 years as a firemen and 911 and this Doctor could not give me 12 minutes and rude receptionist. I would read more reviews and go else where.

The only way I can reach Costco to find out if they had a specific product was through the optical department. The lady attempted to help me, but was unfortunately unable to find the product. I was trying to locate. She did pass me to a representative that could look at my product, which, as it turns out, they no longer Carry. Sucks for me. They no longer carry it, but thank you Optical for trying to help me and passing me along when they couldn't.
