This morning, I had an appointment at Vitreoretinal Consultants in New City. Prior to my visit, I took some time to clarify the difference between an ophthalmologist and a retina specialist. From what I gathered, an ophthalmologist offers both medical and surgical treatment, whereas a retina specialist is an ophthalmologist who has completed an additional fellowship and focuses on conditions and surgeries related to the retina, macula, and vitreous. The level of expertise at Vitreoretinal is extraordinary. I called the office at 9:30 AM, and by 10:15 AM, I was already in the waiting area, ready for my appointment. The staff was fantastic, from the reception team to the technicians conducting the visual exams, and my consultation with the doctor was thorough and efficient. I was in and out in just over an hour. The facility is top-notch, operating seamlessly. If you're experiencing any eye problems, I highly recommend you see the specialists here. Highly recommend this practice for any eye worries you may encounter. Dr. Ravel was thorough in his examination and explanation of what he found. He answered all my questions so I fully understood what was going on. He did not give me the bums rush that so many doctors will do. I also had one appointment with his partner Dr. Mango, who I would also recommend.

The level of attention and professionalism at Rockland Retina is by far one of the best experiences I have had at a doctors office. They do tell you ahead of time that you will wait 1-2 hours before you see the doctor due too high demand, so I was prepare for that already. The doctor gave me a brochure with all of my eye, retina, and other information regarding my own condition. The technician and nurses where also very accommodating and pleasant.
