Cohen's Fashion Optical

Very frustrating and expensive experience. I came in for simple blue light glasses for work and was required to go through a full eye exam, which felt unnecessary for what I needed. I was then strongly pushed toward additional upgrades and options that significantly increased the price. I was quoted nearly $800 for glasses, which felt excessive and sales-driven rather than based on my actual needs. I ultimately paid $300 for lenses alone. Later that same day, I went to LensCrafters and purchased two pairs of Polo glasses for the same price. The difference in transparency and overall experience was night and day. Customer service was disappointing, and the no-refund policy only added to the frustration. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location.

Beware of this branch of Cohen's Fashion Optical. I want to start by saying the eye exam and optometrist were excellent--kind, patient, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience with the sales team was the complete opposite. I purchased expensive lenses for my glasses and was happy to support the store, especially after such a good experience with the doctor. However, when I went to buy contact lenses, I informed the saleswoman that my insurance covered $125. She repeatedly insisted I had to purchase a full year's supply of contacts to use the benefit. After confirming with my insurance company that this was not true, I returned--only to be told again that I was wrong. I ended up calling my insurance provider on speakerphone so the salesperson could speak with them directly. The insurance representative clearly explained that the benefit could be used on any quantity, whether one box or a year's supply. Even then, the saleswoman acted as though she was doing me a favor by processing it and offered no apology or acknowledgment of the misinformation. Other sales staff also backed up her incorrect claim, which made the situation feel even more concerning. I ended up not purchasing the contacts at this location. Since the employee emphasized that she has "been doing this for 13 years," I can't imagine how many customers may have been misled about their insurance benefits. My experience left me with no confidence in the sales practices at this location.

I really wanted to like Cohen's Fashion Optical 1505 Third ave, but my experience was frustrating and expensive. I ordered reading glasses and, every line of text had a yellow line underneath and a blue line above. The lenses were also unusually thick and heavy. I paid my insurance portion plus $250 out of pocket for the lenses, and the store remade the glasses three times. The issue never improved. I was then told I'd need to pay an additional $500 for thinner lenses that would maybe fix the problem. At that point I felt stuck: I'd paid a lot for glasses I can't use. Ironically, a simple $5 pair of readers from Amazon doesn't produce the colored lines and works better for everyday reading. I appreciate that the staff kept trying, but the end result was not usable for me, and the suggested extra charge after multiple remakes didn't feel fair. I'd recommend clear, upfront discussions about lens options, costs, and return/redo policies--and testing lenses in-store to confirm the optics--before committing. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this store based on my experience.

We love this office so much! The service is fantastic and the staff treat you like family. We tell everyone to come here for eye exams, frames, and great advice. Definitely a ten out of ten experience.

I was extremely satisfied with the friendliness of the staff and the professionalism that they showed. Dorothy was the salesperson that assisted me and she was superb! I will definitely continue to patronize this establishment!

Got my new glasses and contacts, and I'm honestly so impressed! The staff was super helpful and made sure I knew exactly what was going on the whole time. They answered all my questions and even walked me through getting used to the contacts. 5 stars!!

I was very pleased with the care I got. The doc was friendly and professional. She showed me my eye scan and helped me understand the problem I was dealing with. They accepted my isurance too!!

The team here made my visit very comfortable. I received a thorough eye exam, and they helped me choose eyeglasses that suited my style. Btw they accepted my insurance too and I paid almost nothing !!!
