had such a great experience at Cohen's Fashion Optical! The store manager, Johana, was absolutely amazing -- she was welcoming, patient, and made sure everything ran smoothly. She really went above and beyond to help me find the perfect frames. Dr. Mehta was also excellent. SHe was thorough, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly during my exam. I felt very comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this location!

Stay away from this Cohen's Optical. If you don't know your benefits, they will steer you toward paying out of pocket. I've had the same insurance for over ten years, and they still tried to charge me for items that are covered. A staff member insisted I had to pay $120 for frames and repeatedly pulled the insurance benefits paper away when I tried to read it. It was referencing the wrong insurance. When I clarified that it was not my vision coverage, another employee dismissively told me that it was and ended the conversation. I was later told their system was down, which should have been explained from the start. The attitude was unprofessional and felt more like a sales push than patient care. As I was leaving, he said "have a nice day" after giving incorrect information and being rude. I have been here multiple times only because it's convenient, and while the staff may change, the agenda does not. Go here if you want to practice standing your ground under pressure and misinformation and lies.

never come to this eye doctor. I tried coming here because it's closer to my apartment versus a real eye doctor (This is some retail optical store) And it's an absolute scam. Never buy their contacts, It is always so much cheaper online with other stores. They only provide you 2 1-day Samples, which is so ridiculous. I called back a week after my appointment to see if it's possible to just get 2 more samples because my online delivery is taking longer than expected. When I go to a real eye doctor store instead of some big chain obstacle retail store, they always provide me at least 5 and they actually care about you ! These people refused to even give me two more trying to justify it that they would've if I purchased contacts through them in store (Mind you their offer for daily contacts is double the price of other online retailers) They could've, but since I didn't they cant. From a customer experience standpoint, I asked super kindly and only because I am in urgent need of more. The people over the phone are super rude about it and unwilling to help. I would like my eye doctor to be someone that actually CARES and UNDERSTANDS the customer like come on 2 more samples is not that crazy of an ask lol. So stingey AND rude!!!!!!!!

I strongly recommend against going to this place for an eye checkup. I went to see the doctor, but the woman at the front desk was immediately pushy and unprofessional. She refused to provide me with a copy of my prescription and instead tried to pressure me into purchasing contact lenses. I told her firmly to provide me with a final price, and I would sleep on it (i.e do my research, and find the most affordable option for myself), she was visibly annoyed and refused to release my prescription. After some back and forth I was finally able to receive a physical print out of my prescription. They refused to send me a digital copy even though I reminded them and paid for this. They also never bothered to order a pair of contact lenses for trial (they are legally required to provide a fitting). Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Never going back.

Needed new glasses and stopped by to see if they could take me in, luckily they could. I was able to get everything done, including my glasses, in about an hour. The entire staff was amazing, especially Ingrid and Johana. Highly recommended for their excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Cohens located at 400 west 42nd street & 9th ave was a great experience. First time there and it felt like I've been there hundreds of times. Ingrid and everyone else at this location made the experience worth the while and will be back in the near future for my new glasses! Thanks to Ingrid and the rest of the staff!

Tried to charge me $150 instead of $30. Told me I need to pay for polarization, but gave me a regular glasses, pretending they polarized them. When found they were wrong - no apologies were given. Feel regrets I deal with them. Never ever again! So unprofessional.

The whole experience today with Ingrid was amazing. I picked out great glasses at an affordable price and Amy shared life stories to keep me busy. Definitely a top notch experience.
