If I could I would give them 0 stars. It was a waste of time for me to come for appointment to find out that the laser machine is down . They confirmed the appointment yesterday, apparently the machine was down before they confirmed my appointment ,because they are doing a reconstruction in the rooms . No one informed me about that until I got to my appointment. I lost a day at work as well as my husband. I have a condition of my eyes that I might go blind any time . during my visit there they even didn't check the eyes pressure before I left , And I had to push back my procedure till February because they was not able to accommodate me sooner. I am hoping that I will be ok till my rescheduled appointment. And I am hoping doctors are not the same level as their administration because their administration is extremely bad
I waited for months for an appointment that was scheduled with Dr. Rebecca Rojas. I called the call center and spoke to three different people who verified my insurance and information before helping me set up The app. The appointment was rescheduled one time because the doctor was unavailable. And then less than 24 hours before the appointment I got a call and was told that the doctor no longer accepts my insurance and that I cannot be scheduled with anyone else at Columbia Eye. They asked me to call NYP to schedule an appointment there. And the fiasco continues.
I stopped by this morning for a regular eye doctor appointment at NYP eye clinic. After waiting for about 30 minutes I was informed that my appointment was incorrectly scheduled. I used the call center phone number to set up my appointment, and followed all procedures and verifications via the MyChart app. And yet after I showed up for my appointment, checked in, got screened by the medical assistant I was told that the appointment was in error and the doctor was not going to see me today. This is gross negligence on the part of the hospital. We all have responsibilities. I took time off work to show up for my appointment. I was given the option to be seen by the triage nurse who would decide if I needed a doctor visit. I refused and asked for them to cancel so I could leave. This is not my first encounter with the clinic that has left me disappointed and frustrated. I wasted my time, train fare and used sick time hours from work.
I don't understand, why are you scheduling my appointment, verifying my insurance and information only to tell me I cannot be seen? Who does this benefit?
I would NOT recommend either Columbia nor NYP eye for one looking for providers for themselves or their loved ones.
This clinic is very disorganized. They overbook patients and you end up staying there for hours. I went to a regular routine doctor appointment with my mom. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said they were going to page the doctor. We were at the clinic for a total of 3 hours and 45 mins. That is not acceptable. Changing doctors asap.
2.5 hour wait?!?
All the receptionists were nice when I asked about how much longer the Dr. would be with the exception of the final check-out receptionist. She was fairly nasty when I asked if the wait was going to be two hours for my next appointment. I asked because I need to schedule my day (I have a job that doesn't look kindly on a 2.5 hour lunch), and she was just being jerky (patronizingly reading my chart, telling me that my appointment was longer because I was new (like my "newness" meant that I needed to sit in a chair for 1.5 hours longer), something about having worked for 4 other ophthalmology offices, and how her "experience" was more significant than mine. If you work for this clinic, please contact me and I'd be happy to discuss this with you.
Dr. Farris was lovely. So why the one star review due to one bad egg? That one bad egg stank up the whole place and I don't care to return.
Extremely unprofessional. They'll have you get there at 9:15 am and to sit there for over 3 hours!!
The doctor never showed her face and the staff lied about her name. Her name is Danielle Trief, but the nurses and receptionist said I don't know the fixities name.
The have RESIDENT DOCS CHECKING PEOPLE, you won't even get the actual doctor.
We needed up leaving, will never come here AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU. Please don't come here, you'll thank me later.
Don't go here! This is by far the worst experience I had at a doc office at Columbia in my life. It took 2.5 hours just to be seen. This is during covid. Finally, they saw me and my prescription is totally wrong. I got my glasses made and everything is off, I am dizzy, they changed it too much. I have a huge problem because I have to return my glasses and go back and they are charging me a refraction fee and I can't reach anyone to void that because I really don't want to go there again. They are incompetent. Find yourself another eye doctor. This is not worth it.
3 hours after my scheduled appointment time, i still hadn't been called to see the doctor. Each time i spoke to the staff about the unreasonable wait time, they responded with short patience and didn't care. I eventually left and got my co-pay refunded. I don't have 3+ hours to waste waiting for a doctor, though Columbia eye doctors are apparently arrogant enough to believe so.
Never go here.
If i would rate this place zero i would ve happily done it and i will say exactly why and take my time .. i came with my boyfriend that has a *
(( retina detachment )) and we had an appointmentat the ophthalmology clinic at 1 pm while i m writing this review and the time now is exactly 2:45 pm and still we haven t been called in ... but the main reason why i m writing this is because of a nurse that shouldn t be one (( julia lopez )) out of all ppl sitting in the waiting room , she came straight to me ordering me with a tone saying exactly in a very rude way ((ur not allowed to sit u have to go outside )) when i asked her excuse me but why .. she said because of social distancing while i see a lot of ppl sitting together and nobody asked them nthng and we ve been sitting for an hour nobody says nthng ..when i tried to show her all the other members came together and sitting same as us and ,she picks the excuse of ** they re minors** while i can see all adults and very old couple ..and trying to explain for her while she RAISES her voice and insists that i should leave while my boyfriend needs assistance.. being a nurse and knowing a patient with this condition cannot have his blood pressure high .. and she notices the patient is getting stressed BUT she still didn t care is a clue that this is not the right place for u .. then i went outside waiting by the clinic door and i can hear her talking abt me to other nurses with an attitude and she sent me another guy saying i m not even allowed to wait by the door i have to wait all outside when i tried to explain to the guy again he tried to tell me the same thing abt social distancing when i showed him the outside room that everyone is sitting there without any social distancing.. so he kept quiet and apologized but i still had to be out so i wont let my friend s blood pressure go high .. because obvioulsy nurses dont care.
Ps:: now the time is 4 pm and he they just got him in .
