I had a really positive experience here. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was welcoming and helpful, which set a great tone for the visit. The woman who conducted my eye exam had such a great attitude, professional, patient, and easy to talk to.
The doctor was thorough, friendly, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I especially appreciated the good sense of humor, which made the whole appointment feel relaxed and comfortable.
Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience. I'd definitely recommend this office.
After years of trying a different one each year, I finally found an opthalmologist! Dr. Whigham is dedicated to his patients, practical, and thorough. He cares. Even though they don't do contact fittings, he answered my questions and printed my rx to save me a separate visit to a different eye doctor. I wasn't making changes anyway. This was very considerate. He has great bedside manner too. Thank you!
I had a great experience at this clinic! Dr. Whigham was organized, thorough and kind. He saw something potentially concerning during my eye exam and recommended that I see a neurologist to check it out. Thanks to his caution, I was able to find out about a health condition that could be causing my eye issues and get it addressed early on.
He also followed up a week or two after the appointment to see if I'd run into any further eye problems. I highly recommend SightMD to anyone who is seeking a doctor who is attentive, careful and communicative with his patients, as well as a clinic that is friendly and efficient.
The one star is bc I was really happy that I finally found an eye Dr. I liked&helped me with my chronic dry eyes. Dr. Furey is great.
I cannot say the same for the other Drs there bc I wasn't seen by most of them, the ones I have been is by a younger Dr. whom I wasn't satisfied with since I felt my appointment with him was rushed.&the other is an occulo plastic surgeon I was referred to (working their other sightMD location)she did not thoroughly follow up with me after I had a major fall where I fractured my orbital bone.
&I cannot say that I had a pleasant experience from the front desk. Although the two gentleman&1of the women who helps with the imaging were fairly nice.
There is 1 woman(who I should've gotten her name, but am so immensely sick that I had forgot) made my appointment very horrible.
She may come off as professional but she is in need of communication retraining&being taught how to speak to patients. Her robotic&frigid demeanor is not what is needed especially when it comes to patient care.
I've been so ill for a handful of years since Covid, where I have multiple lingering symptoms, especially chronic eye pain.
I made an appointment for an EMERGENCY, where I had confirmed MULTIPLE times that my INS was active&was told on by the person who scheduled my appt. that as long as I confirmed my INS being active prior, I should not have an issue.
So I went to my appt. believing that is all I needed. But when I got there, I was assisted by the woman at the front desk who said my INS is inactive although I told her it is&it won't be long until it activates in there system.
I told her I'm going to have a seat&call the NYS of health(for yet ANOTHER time)to clarify for her that my insurance is indeed active.
While I was on hold for 16 min, she did not approach me to try&recheck my insurance status. It was only then, when I finally got to speak to some1 on the , that the front desk woman decided to call my name&interrupt me. I raised my hand to her to let her know "please hold on a moment" since I'm speaking to the rep, which she later says(when I called her office the next day) that I raised my finger(which that could be interpreted negatively if no context is given. I raised my hand in the gesture where one uses fingers&hand to let the person who is trying to call onto them, to hold on a moment.
&while this was occurring I was sitting so awfully sick having pressure in my abdomen&my bc of my multiple health issues¤t severe constipation which Drs have not helped me with for over 3 weeks.
But there I was trying to have her understand &assist me properly. When I was completed with my call with NYS of health regarding my INS status. I went to the front desk to speak to the abrasive&cold front desk woman&she still dismissed me saying my INS isn't active, where some1 else would check again, at least 1 more time since it wasn't going to be long for it to synchronize in their system. But no, she continued to dismiss me&spoke to me as if I'm a buffoon with her response of "uh huh"&so I walked away from her after telling her that her response was not appreciated&also bc I went to the restroom since all this time I was feeling so awfully sick
Before I left, I spoke to another front desk employee, he usually is nice but I saw that his demeanor was changed.
It is sad that in current times there is lack of genuine care in the healthcare field&is more important.
A front desk team&overall admin &management can either positively or negatively impact an office.
The way this (755 Park Ave office) is run, is not effective in my opinion.
After I left, it wasn't even 10 min which passed, I called my cardiologist to see if she could see me since I came to my eye doctor SICK, and my cardiologist's staff not only told me my insurance is ACTIVE, they put me on the schedule as an emergency and were so kind and helpful.
Now I cannot see Dr. Furey anymore because of the very lackluster energy in the office and I don't appreciate the way I'm treated by the front desk. Especially when I'm so genuinely sick and suffering.
I had cataract surgery with Dr. Ellant. I have no complaints. The doctor is pleasant and I always judge a doctor by his/her willingness to answer my questions. Dr. Ellant is patient and thorough. I would highly recommend him. His staff has always been polite and professional.
Don't waste your time and effort on this place. Booked an appointment with Zocdoc, got there on time, missing my lunch hour. The guy says, "Oh well, the doctor is running late." How late? Maybe at least an hour or more. Why book appointments in the first place? Disorganized, regretful, inappropriate place. There are so many more organized doctors; why settle for such a poor, disorganized practice?
I see that you replied to my post. Seems more like an afterthought to make sure your Google ranking remains good. The reality is, this is a super disorganized, bad place which everyone should quit. The only reason why they are responding to every query is to make sure the greater number of responses or posts get some greater coverage.
Dr Furey's staff are caring, competent and very professional. Dr Furey is excellent and someone I would highly recommend.
Scheduling an appointment is easy however, the wait time, once in the office is very long c
This was my first time visiting SightMD, and the experience was phenomenal. The staff and doctors were friendly. The office was clean and quiet. I also didn't feel like I waited too long to be seen by the doctor. Overall, my experience was pleasant and I really appreciated the level of service I received. 10/10 would recommend!
