Great experience with my elderly dad whose primary care is across the street at IFH. We tried to book online and there weren't many openings, so we walked in while nearby, and he was able to slip in with 30 mins - I presume this was sheer luck, but greatly appreciated the flexibility. Office is clean, spacious, etc. We are bilingual and the staff met us perfectly. Everyone had high service and bedside manner / quality of care. Shout out to Mark, who was great with my dad - respectful, patient, endearing, and met him exactly where he was (not keen on being seen ). Like the warm-up act at a show! We were "well-primed" when we saw Dr. Weitzner, who was equally great. Attentive, efficient, and willing to explain everything / answer our Qs generously, not in a rush, etc. thanks! Results: his eyes are in great shape, still no need for glasses! ... These days, service, esp those that accept Medicare, can be less than ideal... I highly recommend this team of true professionals!
The front desk staff and Ophthalmologist, Dr. Cohen, provide exceptional service and care. I would especially like to recognize Mark Matthews, the Patient Services Technician, for his outstanding professionalism.
Mark is knowledgeable, kind, respectful, and accommodating. He is truly a consummate professional. I first visited this office two weeks ago, and because of the excellent experience I had, I scheduled an appointment for my husband, who was seen today. He shared the same positive impression of Mark.
Kudos to Union Square Eye for having such exemplary staff. Mark's approach makes patients feel valued and comfortable, turning what could be a stressful visit into a pleasant experience. Thank you, Mark. We look forward to seeing you again in six months.
I have been taking my daughter here for the past 2-3 years. Absolutely love the changes every year. They try to update their clinic every year to give their patient's the best quality of service. I recently started taking my youngest sister and from the front desk, Rebecca Weiss, and other employees have taken good care of us. Will always recommend my friends and family members to this location.
My 15 year old son developed a stye that would not go away on its own. I requested a day off from work, which is not easy for me, and made an appointment with one of the doctors. The staff had almost two weeks to verify his age, but no. They call me 15 minutes before my appointment time to tell me the doctor does not accept kids. So unprofessional. It is so hard to take a day off from work these days for them to be pulling this crap. The girl on the phone had no empathy and not once did she apologize. She said "well, do you want another appointment or what".
Amazing place for my first time. My daughter was greeted with a nice smile and it felt inviting. The staff were very positive and professional. Dr.Weiss was very nice with my toddler (1.5 yr old)
Submitted all my insurance info before appointment and was told at check in they didn't take the insurance. Waste of time
I had an excellent experience at the Harlem clinic. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and Dr. Marcia Tapper-Rosenberg was very thorough and patient. Even without insurance, I felt the out-of-pocket cost was well worth it.
I'm disappointed with my recent experience at this office. Over the past month, two of my appointments were canceled on short notice. The first cancellation happened on Halloween due to the doctor having an unexpected call later in the afternoon. The second occurred on my rescheduled date, the Monday of Thanksgiving week, leaving me scrambling again.
As a working professional, it's incredibly inconvenient to rearrange my schedule with only a day's notice. I understand emergencies happen, but back-to-back cancellations with minimal notice make it challenging to trust this office's reliability.
If you have a busy work schedule, I recommend confirming their consistency before booking. I hope they improve their scheduling and communication practices in the future.
