Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology - Tribeca

Weill Cornell pediatric ophthalmology is horrible. Forget about the doctors, I am talking about the staff and office manager. I made it early to my appointment with my 2 year old. Everything was fine until the front desk told me the doctor is running an hour or so behind (which is okay, I get it delays can happen) BUT, as the office manager, it is his job to call the patients to let them know this. I came from an hour away as Is, my kid is already antsy. He's already running throughout the office, crying and screaming. Now they're telling me there's about 2 patients ahead plus the initial office visit time of 2-2.5 hours. So in total I have to spend 3-3.5 hours there with my 2 year old. If someone would have called me in advance to let me know I would understand, but I just spent so much money to get there on time, took off of work and took my kid out of camp only to have to need to wait about 3-4 hours for an appointment? On top of that, the AC is not working, it is hot and humid in the office. Very unprofessional from the office managers stand point. Had to leave, realistically it's almost impossible to have a 2 year old sit there through that. Work better on your office and time management. Will never be going back and I do not recommend this office for pediatric patients. Not worth your time. Also as a doctor, it is his responsibility to tell the front desk or office manager to call patients ahead to let them know what's going on, time wise and how he's running late. If it's a 30 min wait, FINE. But a whole hour or so wait with a toddler. No that's not fine

Outstanding medical team! All of the ophthalmologist and techs have been brilliant and caring. Observing from the waiting area the front desk staff are always friendly and they really work with patients to ease them through the process. Sadly, all the negative comments are due to insurance and or clerical issues.

Really unhappy - the front desk told me my entire glaucoma test will be covered with my copay when I was asking to schedule my appointment. I see the claims on my insurance app, and I now owe them about $500. For some reason, it's impossible to reach them on the phone now. The doctor and technician were professional and thorough FYI.

This facility is wonderful. It's bright and airy, especially the front waiting room. But the halls are nice as well. The whole design is great. Plus, you never have to wait. They take you at your appointed time or earlier. I'd give it 10 stars.

Receptionists were welcome, my doctor Yoo was knowledgeable, caring, patient to me. My nurse was very considerate and lovely. It took ~10-15 min to find parking near around on Friday afternoon around 2. Overall experience is beyond my expectation!

This was a great place to get your eye checked. I have been to both NYU and Mount Sinai as well and this was much more effective, less wait time between exams, and really helpful staff. Definitely recommend.

Dr Ciralsky is the best! She is so upbeat and genuinely concerned for your care and excited when things are doing well. Her knowledge of my husband's rare autoimmune disease was tremendous and gave us great comfort that he is being cared for in the best possible way. Her credentials are impeccable and we look forward to her continued care of my husband.

The doctors are great when you see them, but there is absolutely no communication possible with the doctors when you need it. I was prescribed eye drops. The pharmacy said insurance doesn't cover so doctor needs to call to figure out alternative. I call doctor and the office says the doctor will be in touch. I also email doctor. Whole day goes by and the pharmacy says no one ever called. I wind up calling emergency nighttime line due to eye getting more swollen by the minute. The doctor sends an alternative med that the pharmacy doesn't have in stock. I call the doctor back and the doctor prescribes something else but by then the pharmacy is closed. The doctor blames the medical insurance industry for the lack of communication from doctor's office to the pharmacy. I call the office next morning and all I get is attitude and no apologies. What in the world is going on? My husband says "omg what is wrong with your eye?" It seems like no one cares about the actual patient. I know that other departments of Weill Cornell are so very caring - especially the peds on 85th St- so I am very disappointed.
