If I could have given less stars, I would!
My experience with this office was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Back in November, my wife initially called to schedule an appointment for me and explained that I needed scleral lenses and would be a new patient. She was told I needed to call myself, which I did about a week later. During that call, I again confirmed that I was a new patient and that I was coming in specifically for scleral lenses. The appointment was made without issue.
I did have to cancel once due to illness, but I later rescheduled and was clear that the purpose of the visit was to get my contacts. When I arrived, I was asked to remove my old contacts, something that leaves me unable to see without assistance. During testing, one staff member had trouble with a test and brought in another employee, who then asked me again if I was a new patient and if I was there for scleral lenses, both of which had already been communicated multiple times.
At that point, I was told they no longer accept patients for this type of contact, that I was not referred, and that they had already informed all local eye doctors. I was essentially told they could not help me at all.
There was no apology, no alternative recommendations, and they didn't even offer to help me get my contacts back in so I could see. Thankfully, my wife drove me. If she hadn't, I'm not sure how I would have managed.
The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy was shocking. If my insurance is billed for this wasted appointment, I will be disputing it. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. The staff here was dismissive and rude, and this office was a complete waste of time.
*It also appears they only respond to reviews that give them kudos.
I originally wrote a review the day after my appointment, but it was removed without any response, which is concerning in itself. I scheduled a new patient appointment for scleral lenses back in November, and at no point was I told that the practice was not accepting new patients for this type of care.
I had to reschedule my initial January 2 appointment due to illness, and again nothing was mentioned about any limitation on new patients. It wasn't until I arrived for my appointment, after the technician was unable to measure my eyes, that I was finally told they are not seeing new patients for scleral lenses.
This information should have been clearly communicated from the beginning. Instead, my time was completely wasted. My insurance should not be billed for a visit that should never have been scheduled in the first place.
To make matters worse, the staff did not even offer to make sure my contact lenses got back in before I left. Thankfully, my wife drove me, because I would not have been able to leave on my own.
Unfortunately, the staff was rude and dismissive throughout the experience. Overall, this was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
My family has been going to Saratoga Vision for years!! The optometrists and their staff are great!!! We see Dr. Sorgie, she is very thorough, I have issues with on eye, she was very knowledgeable about what my issues are and how to take care of it. The optical side is equally as good. The staff there has been there as long as we've been going there.
This review is for the optical shop. What a massive selection of eyeglasses they have! The opticians are caring and friendly - I have worked with several - and there are many working there at a time so you can pretty much be guaranteed not to have to wait long to be helped. I had to come back to have my frames adjusted a few times because I am like the princess and the pea when it comes to glasses, but no one ever made me feel like I was a pain in the butt. I wear progressives and the lenses ordered were correct for my vision. It's a pleasant relaxed place to shop for glasses. Highly recommend.
Great experience! Been going to Saratoga vision for years. Always remember when I got my first pair of glasses when Dr. Ching would help me with contacts and now Dr. Griffen helps me with all the eye glass needs. My mom loves the family run business and supports them in the community. Always getting the latest fashion with her eyeglasses.
Very through in the examination. Pricey depending on your insurance but then what isn't expensive. They make sure the glasses fit right before you leave. So I have my new ones on now so there is a difference between the old and new but will give it a couple of days to be sure it's not the lens as progressive seems a bit off in the right lens. Will see what happens and how the after sale care if I need to go back and have them check. But having Saturday hours and some late hours it's a plus and not have to wait months like some other places I tried to get in. All in all it was a pleasant experience. Update got my glasses and within two days had to go back as they were causing blurred and double vision. They got me back in rechecked my eyes and glasses. The Doctor was great the guy that was working with me in the showroom not so much. But they are trying to get things right so far. So after care is pretty good up to this point.
My family has been getting eye exams and glasses/contacts at Saratoga Vision for many years. Dr. Carson took good care of us for most of our appointments there, always taking time to educate us in the most professional and caring way. We have found that Dr. Sorgie is also extremely professional, caring, and thorough. Today she gave us peace of mind regarding two concerns we had while also going above and beyond in other conversations with us. I almost didn't want to include her name here because I fear others will read this and we will struggle to get appointments with her but it feels like the right thing to share! :) She deserves to receive the appreciation; it's well-deserved!
Wow, the technicians are so great...again!!!! I just stepped on my glasses and really messed them up...lenses would not stay in for me. I just popped in the office as a walk-in and they sent me to a technician who got right on it. It was somewhat of a complex repair but they came out good as new and no charge! This is the fourth timeI had a pair of glasses repaired at Saratoga Vision over the 30 years and each time such helpful people and great service! They really stand behind their products and treat customers well. Thanks!
