OCLI Vision East Setauket

Staff in the front is very rude, drove far away for my appointment. Than was advised they don't accept my insurance after receiving so many reminders that I was due for an annual appt. Finally when I scheduled it they failed to tell me they aren't par with my insurance. When I did arrive for my appt I was upset because I disclose the distance I drove. She than told me that it was not her job to check if my insurance was accepted. But it did not make sense because she did tell me when I got there. I wasn't upset about my insurance not being up to par, she should've had more compassion about the situation instead she didn't care and made it clear that it was not her responsibility, yet it is if she took time of her day to plan and prep the schedule. I used the patchogue office in the past so I was willing to do self pay To keep seeing the same ophthalmologist, but will not be going back nor recommending anybody that I know go there due to the rude staff. They also have a sign that says Becomes rude then it will cause for immediate discharge. Had the st Situations then they wouldn't have Have the sign up. Now I see why it's there. I'm still horrified about the situation.

Horrible experience. The Dr I saw has the personality of sandpaper. Now I'm getting bills that they have admitted are wrong. Wait on hold for over 30 min to speak to a rude collector who finally agrees that I don't owe the money only to be told I have to speak to someone else at another office. Transferred to them to sit on hold and finally be told nobody is there that can help. Don't go here!!!

I recently completed cataract surgery for both eyes. Dr. Oats and his staff at OCLI treated me with outstanding care and skill. I cannot believe what I have missed seeing. Thank you Dr. Oats and staff. Update January 28, 2024 I am so pleased with the results of my cataract surgery I want to show you what I can see without reading glasses. I rehearsed with my jazz band yesterday, and everything on the page is "tack" sharp; Even my mistakes, but at least I could see them as I played on! Thanks, OCLI Team. Art G. February 16,2024 Update 2 I had my second one-month post surgical update and all I can say is WOW! I ask d to be able to see Jupiter's 4 major moons, but the sky is too cloudy to get a shot. I did capture Orion a few nights earlier, and I am super pleased with my view. Hopefully, I'll get a pic of Jupiter soon (with some of his moons). In the meantime, here is Orion the Hunter. His pooch, Sirius is following at his lower left. Dr. Oats and his team are the tops! Thanks again.

Even tough the office was quite packed, the waiting time was perfect. Dr. Chris Adam is exceptional and he is the kind of doctor every patient should be so lucky to have in their care corner. The staff is also great. Kudos to Ryan.

Staff is friendly, professional and caring. There is an efficiency to the visit while still addressing patient concerns. Dr. Adam is reassuring, kind and very thorough. I always leave this office feeling good.

Well, I unfortunately get to leave the first single star review. A patient of OCLI for 10 years, I recently awoke with blindness in my right eye, secondary to black blotches and dots, that is indicative of a retina tear. I immediately called OCLI and was informed that the retina specialist, Dr Adams was at the Patchogue office, but no one was answering the phone. So, knowing time is of the essence for retina tears, I drove to the office, and described what was happening to the front desk staff. My complaint was written on a post it note, and was allegedly presented to Dr Adams, where he informed the staff that the office would be closing in a half hour, and he wouldn't be able to look at my eye, and they didn't "think" it was a retina tear anyway......... I was offered an appointment 3 days in the future, for a potential permanent sight limiting issue. I confirmed with the front desk staff that If it was a tear, it is time sensitive, and I expressed my concern, and disappointment in the process. I am absolutely disgusted at the lack of urgency and professionalism I encountered. The emergency room was able to confirm my suspicions and diagnose a retina tear within 5 minutes. I would've expected this evaluation,at the minimum, from the alleged eye professionals at OCLI. Never again. I'll take my eyes and my money elsewhere. They should be ashamed.

My experience with the office staff at OCLI was wonderful. The front desk staff are so nice. Melissa treated me like I knew her, she was so friendly, professional and made my visit a pleasant one. Each staff member I needed to see was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Thank you all! I had a post op appointment with Dr. Wong yesterday, and as the times before, I was promptly taken care of by the office staff and within a few minutes I was in with Dr. Wong. He is very comforting, easy to talk to, I had some questions. He answered them all. I am still a bit swollen from surgery, which is expected but so anxious to see the final results. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wong and his staff at the Setauket office.

Had cataracts removed and had a wonderful experience. In all the ocli locations...had Mt surgery at Port Jeff surgical center by Dr Noecker who was fantastic... great dr. Such an easy experience. Recommend highly .thank you Dr Noecker
