Dr. Twist is amazing! Moved back to Buffalo 7 years ago and had to find a new eye doctor. Unfortunately, I first chose a large, prominent group & was very unhappy with the exam & personnel. The second one I chose (also well-known) had the techs do my basic eye exams. Had cataract surgery on one eye, but felt so rushed & dismissed by the actual doctor, I looked for another provider. Thank God I found Dr. Twist. He did such a great job on my cataract surgery I don't need glasses for that eye. He's thorough in his eye exams & actually listens to you and even remembers previous conversations. Wish I had found him years ago.

Dr Twist is an amazing surgeon. I went for cataract surgery. The surgery improved my eyesight 100%. I could see amazing right after surgery. My parents went to him and when they passed he wrote a hand written letter to the family how sorry he was to hear of their passing. I was very touched by that. His staff is amazing too. Thank you Dr Twist I can see the world again. Can't wait to get my other eye done! If you are having eye problems I would highly recommended him. Thank you Dr Twist.

Dr. Twist is great with the care and diagnostics. However, I gave 1 star because the billing system is terrible. I went to see him in July 2025. I requested itemized receipts every visit (3 visits). They said it takes 6-8 weeks to get it. If it's ready, they will call me. In September, I haven't heard anything so I called....same answer wait for 6-8 weeks for itemized bills. On November 5, I called. They said they can't give me the itemized bills because I have a balance with them. I paid right away. Then I asked: can I get it now. They said they will call me back...silence Today 12/22, I called them. Now, they asked me to wait for another 2-3 weeks to get it. Why is it so hard to get the itemized bills!!!!! FSA required me to show that. If it's other practice, they will email me, right away.

Update: the doctor called me to explain the confusion that occurred, apologized and made everything right! It was appreciated . I feel better about returning now. The staff were sweet, kind and tried their best! The stars are for my overall experience. I came last year and had great services ..this time I went in , the doctor came in the room, then left the room, his staff then came in the exam room and tried to get me to sign a piece of paper stating that I would be responsible for any costs associated with my exam AND that my insurance didn't cover me getting a paper prescription for my glasses? I've never heard of such a thing when I have insurance and it was the same vision insurance I had the year prior. When I was told to wait and to speak to Dr.Twist more about it , I was left in the exam room for another 1/2 hour. My appointment was at 2:50 pm, I ended up leaving the office at 4:15 pm with not having an exam and still waiting for the Dr. to explain the insurance thing-I was ultimately told there was another patient in front of me! Not going back.

If I could give zero stars, I would. He is incredibly rude. The first thing he said to me in a snappy and nasty tone was "uncross your legs!" He was looking at my eye not my legs so that was creepy. His staff seems to know he is not a nice guy. If he sees you with a cellphone he will flip out on you. He also charges a $100 fee if you miss an appointment, mind you, they do not give you an appointment reminder call either. Appointments are always super late. Would never recommend, not even to my worst enemy.

I'm very satisfied with the cataract and vision correction services I received from Dr Twist. He's a true professional! I highly recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr Twist for over 25 years. In that time he has taken excellent care of me. My cataract surgery was almost 20 years ago and is a complete success story. The staff is professional and courteous and always a pleasure. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone other than Dr Twist.

I went to Dr Twist in good faith and did everything he recommended. He told me I had glaucoma and wanted to do a laser treatment on my eyes that would have been $300 which I couldn't comfortably afford at the time so I opted for drops. He told me that I had cataracts and that anytime I wanted I could get laser surgery for them. I was thrilled bc I've had glasses all my life and would love to ditch them. Next time I went in he told me I should get the laser treatment for glaucoma and that it would be $50. No reason for the change in copay. Meanwhile my eyes are bright red all the time like I'd been smoking a blunt with Snoop Dog on the daily. He tells me that they don't do pre-authorizations for the drops I needed. The receptionist said they do. No one ever told me that the second drop was for an eye infection so I kept using it bc I had been told I was getting another drop for glaucoma. Every time I went in I was given a series of tests. The upshot is that I went to a different doctor who has been monitoring my eyes for almost 2 years. I do not have glaucoma. No nerve damage and my pressure is not near problematic. My cataracts are not bad enough to have surgery. The first drops he gave me for glaucoma have a side effect of causing extreme blood shot eyes. I was never told even though I asked him about it. The tests I was given every month should be done once a year according to my new doctor. My conclusion is that he is very money hungry and does as much surgery and tests that he can get away with. I don't think that he has his patients best interests at heart. I think he is much more focused on his wallet.
