For as long as I can remember, my world depended on glasses and contacts. I started wearing glasses at 12, and my vision only continued to get worse. By the time I reached a -6 prescription, being nearsighted felt less like an inconvenience and more like a vulnerability. Without my glasses or contacts, I was essentially blind--and that fear stayed with me. I hated how dependent I felt, especially knowing that if something unexpected happened and I didn't have access to them, I would be completely helpless. I live an active lifestyle and love being in the water. One experience really solidified my decision to pursue LASIK: I was surfing when my contacts flushed out. Suddenly, I couldn't see anything as waves continued crashing over me. It turned into a genuinely dangerous situation, and in that moment I realized how much my vision was limiting my freedom. I've always loved swimming, and the idea of being able to do it without contacts felt life-changing. The LASIK procedure itself was faster than I ever imagined--so fast that it was over before I even had time to feel nervous. Truly zero pain, and I don't say that lightly. I sat up afterward and immediately saw the time on the clock on the wall. That moment alone was incredible. Post-op was surprisingly easy. The slight burning sensation afterward felt similar to leaving contacts in too long, but it was very mild--and honestly, I barely noticed it because I followed the advice to take a nap right after surgery. When I woke up, the burning was completely gone. The doctor was incredibly personable, and that warmth carried through the entire staff. Even though they had already done 28 surgeries that day, when they were with me, I felt like I was the only patient that mattered. That level of care meant everything. One tip I'd absolutely recommend: schedule the latest appointment available so you can go straight home and sleep. I live about 45 minutes from the LASIK Vision Institute, and the numbing drops lasted all the way until I got home and into bed. At my post-op appointment, I experienced some dryness in my left eye that caused a slight haze. Even though I was already using drops every hour (which is on the conservative end of the 1-2 hour recommendation), I'd suggest using them every 30 minutes at first to completely avoid dryness. Overall, LASIK has been a total game changer for me. The freedom of not relying on glasses or contacts--especially for swimming and living actively--is something I wish I had done sooner. If you're on the fence, I hope my experience helps give you peace and confidence in the decision.

The LASIK Vision Institute was phenomenal! I did the same day appointment and procedure. The entire staff was friendly and very reassuring. Any and all questions were answered. The process was very thorough. The procedure was quick and painless. The doctor explained everything before each step as well as during each step. My post procedure instructions were also very thorough. My vision improved tremendously before I ever left the office, but it was near perfect within 6-8 hours. I highly recommend the procedure, as well as the office!

LASIK was easy to get through, and the entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I felt extremely comfortable in my doctor's hands, and everyone was very supportive throughout the entire process. I had the procedure yesterday and am already able to walk around seeing without glasses or contacts. After wearing contacts for 25+ years, I needed freedom from the strain they caused. I'm very thankful for this place and would highly recommend them.

**Life-Changing Experience with LASIK!** Yesterday I had LASIK eye surgery at the LASIK Vision Institute, and I can't express how thrilled I am with the results! From the moment I walked into the clinic, the staff was welcoming and professional, making me feel comfortable and informed about the entire process. They took extra time with me to work through my anxiety and fear about the process. The procedure itself was quick and surprisingly painless. I will say, however, that the 4 hours post procedure were not pleasant. But it was worth it in the end. By 8pm the same day of my procedure, I was able to drive myself to go get dinner- no glasses or contacts needed! I highly recommend LASIK to anyone considering it. I came in from the Caribbean expecting a wait. I was asked able to have my diagnosis and surgery the same day with a follow-up a few days after. From the beginning everyone in the office was pleasant and knowledgeable. The surgeon was great and explained everything through the process. Definitely recommend. No long waiting.
