Dr. Nienaber has been my optometrist since I moved to North Carolina in 2015. He has always done an excellent job taking care of my eyes. He is very detail-oriented when it comes to giving exams and making sure you have the correct pair of glasses or contacts. I am disappointed that so many people do not like his attitude, but I find him quite easy to get along with. His staff is very friendly and professional as well. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good optometrist to visit Rural Hall Eye Care!

Staff was very nice but the Doctor was sarcastic, creepy and quite patronizing.
He skipped over me to see another client who came in after me even though my appointment time was ahead of hers. So unprofessional.
Side note, the literature used to check your eyes for blurriness was even creepier.
Yeah, no thanks. Won't be returning.

I understand with all the chaos with the pandemic going on there might be some confusion but my daughter and I showed up for our appointment. We were told to come at 8 and 8:30. When we knocked on the door a lady comes to the door and states no one ever told us to come at 8 they do not start seeing patients till 9:30. I explained to her we were scheduled at 8 am I have it written down and in my phone as well. We were told to come at 8 and 8:30 because they were trying to spread patients out. She got extremely nasty and said that we can just go somewhere else then because no one would schedule us at 8. So if you schedule here make sure you remind them of your appointment because otherwise your appointment time will be when it is convenient for them. I can not say how good the doctors are. They might be great, but their front staff I had experience with this morning was extremely poor.
