Wilmington Eye

First time visiting this eye doctor. It was such a wonderful experience! The tech who saw me first and did all my testing was extremely sweet, caring, and reassuring. I told her that I fear things going near my eyes and she was super gentle and calmed me down so fast. I can't remember her name. She wears glasses and has purple braids I believe. The doctor came in relatively quickly and was also super sweet and thoroughly explained everything going on with my eyes to me. Office was really clean and the waiting area was really comfortable as well.

I love how my baby was treated with care && compassion being that she has autism she wanted to pick out her own glasses that I had to come out of pocket for(making it fun for her) which is fine with me but it was this one lady that was grinding my gears (she work in the glasses department) but be on social media running her mouth with her husband in EVERY drama situation YOU can think of....couldn't seem to get right with what my child wanted & needed to make her feel comfortable wearing them that's why I said I didn't mind paying out of pocket but she felt like it was a problem & couldn't write me up a receipt for it ...INSTEAD SHE looking at me like I'm crazy because I wanted to pay out of pocket on top of what medicaid was paying for. but anyways thank you for being a part of our lives we truly appreciate you my mom goes here as well & Ms Keaton was working there at the time (front desk) but she's not there anymore she was real nice & sweet love going there just to see her good attitude with her patients

I normally never leave reviews, but I felt so thankful after my appointment that I really wanted to share my experience for anyone who may be hesitant. I saw Dr. Austin Degroff, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. I've been dealing with eye issues for almost two months, and he was able to clearly explain what was going on and give me really helpful next steps. I finally felt some clarity and peace after a long stretch of uncertainty. I also want to highlight how compassionate the entire experience was. This was a last-minute appointment, and I had to bring my toddler with me. Both Dr. Degroff and his nurse were unbelievably patient and understanding- they even helped entertain my son while the doctor examined my eye. As a parent, that meant more to me than I can express. I felt truly seen, supported, and appreciated during my visit. I'm so grateful for the care I received and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this office to others!!

I had a sudden issue with one of my eyes. I hadn't been seen in the office for several years however I called for an appointment. In the span of 3 hours I called the the office, spoke to scheduling, left a message for triage, spoke to a nurse, was given an appointment within the hour, seen and examined by tech and Dr Buckley and given a follow-up appt. I had a thorough exam and detailed explanation of my situation. This was the best Dr office experience I've had, the care and consideration from all staff was excellent and I will recommend this group to everyone.

My Wilmington Eye appointment was perfect. Just a few minutes of wait time until I was escorted to the exam room by the lovely Hannah (who tested me last year). After a thorough eye exam (no changes) I was dilated for the doctor. Dr Watson started the next phase of the exam promptly and explained her findings every step of the way. Again no changes from last year but still such an in depth process for outstanding results. I love this team!

This was my first visit to this office, from the front desk to the tech were amazing!!! The tech was gentle and great customer service, the Dr Dunlow was great doctor, very detailed excellent medical care, i went out to see the lens lady, she was very nice i had my frames, just need lens changed, my glasses were ready in a week, i went in 2.7.2026 and met with a women Julie, she was rude, my glasses were in plastic,she took the plastic and said i assumed you have a case, this women greated me with what are we doing here, she said the ran out of eye glass cleaner, this women was very unprofessional, one bad apple. I will go back the care was amazing i truly hope julie changes her ways.

Dr Shipley and her team are great -5 stars! However we encountered issues with the lab used by the optical department. We also paid for shipping but ended up driving back to pick up glasses bc it was going to take an extra week to receive them. Friendly staff in optical.

It was my fist time there. Everyone was very nice. I hadn't even sat down for 5 minutes, & was called back, so that was nice. However, after the initial assesment, I waited probably a good 30+ minutes for the Dr. He was very nice, apologized, and thanked me for waiting. I know he was busy, but I am wondering if he was the only Dr there. Its a big place to only have one Dr. I hope that is not the norm.
