Not friendly to customers. Hours vary especially on Fridays and no information online is mentioned about "closing early on Fridays, time varies" It's ridiculous to not mention anywhere other than posting a paper on the front door. I was planning on getting a contact refill from here but I will be going online now. The doctors are great but the rest of the business clearly doesn't care about it's customers.

Ashland eye care is a complete joke!! My fiance went in because his eye has been bothering him , Denbow theere told him that he pulled out what looked to be a little hair (never dialted his eyes) my fiance told them that it feels like there is no in there and the eye dude just tells him to come back this morning around 9:30am, just completely dismissing him. Ended up calling another eye doctor instead and please tell me why they pulled out a HUGE piece of metal from his eye and how he has a scar of his eyeball and a smaller pupil because those clucks didn't want to do their job. After reading other reviews on top of what I witnessed with my fiance, they better start checking themselves or I smell a lawsuit coming their way. I would NOT recommend going here.

First of all Dr. Buckley is great. She is awesome with adults as well as kids. The front desk ladies are excellent as well. my gripe is with how they treat customers. My youngest daughter had to get glasses after her first visit there. she was so excited she picked out her frames and we paid the amount they said it was no issue. A few days later we get a call saying they calculated incorrectly and we owed a additional $53 or so dollars. We obviously weren't thrilled with the additional amount after being told the total was one thing and then it's another because of an error on their part. we asked for the office manager to call us. They apologized of course but offered no recourse and simply said we could of came in and picked out different frames but they never told us that. it was put as either pay the additional amount or we are going to cancel the order. long story short we ended up speaking with the owner Dr. Denbow who simply told us tough luck we aren't going to do anything for you but we can cancel your order but we aren't going to discount or pay the $53 dollar mistake that was made by his employee. He said they can't because the margins are so slim with insurance that they simply can't do anything other than take it or leave it. He then proceeded to liken it to ordering 250 dollars worth of food and eating it then saying I only want to pay $150.....excuse me...I paid what you said it was originally then you called us saying oh wait we messed up pay us an additional $53. It's simple customer service....a business makes a mistake then that business owns up to it and fixes it. You don't call back days later and say you owe us more especially not for $50....but it's okay they don't need my families business I was informed....they have been in business for 35 years.....smh.

If you go here, make sure you know your insrance coverage extremely well and have a receipt every time to prove payment. I have debated this for a while now and ultimately decided to go ahead and leave this review. We have been going here for at least 8 years now. This last experience has been so terrible that we will no longer be back. The Drs we have seen have been amazing, unfortunately management is where they really lack. From double charging us after they lost cash payment (so someone stole it but they apparently don't have cameras that oversee the checkout so i was told) to nobody knowing how the safety glasses work to finding out they charge whatever they want and don't bother billing insurance properly, this has been the worst health care of any kind my family has experienced. What ultimately lead to this review was that I was told by 3 separate people including the "business manager" and Dr Denbow himself that they do not bill the insurance for contact fittings because they never get reimbursed. Instead they have us, their patients pay full price. I had called our insurance prior to talking to them just to make sure i was 100% knowledgeable in our coverage and was told that the eye office incorrectly bills the insurance for this so it gets denied until they resubmit a correct claim. I spoke to Connie, who has zero customer service skills and is the rudest woman I've ever dealt with for being a "professional". Clearly having no patience to understand the situation she gets on the phone without identifying herself or even a hello and immediately told me my insurance doesn't dictate what price the office charges. I had to repeatedly try to explain to her that though the insurance doesn't dictate the prices they do dictate what I actually have to pay and that they will reimburse the office if they correctly coded it. After several minutes, it seemed she might have been comprehending the situation better and had me send a photo of my insurance coverage to her email but then never followed through with contacting insurance to figure out how to properly bill it. (I know this beacause i was told by 2 more employees a few weeks later that they dont bill the insurance for this service.) A few weeks later we get a bill with a hand written note saying they will send it to collections if not paid immediately. So i go in to talk to whoever is above Connie as I didn't want to deal with her rude and condescending attitude despite her own incompetence just to find out Connie is the business manager. Mind was blown. Since they don't bother billing insurance that was enough to walk away without hesitation. We have excellent insurance, and have never been treated so poorly before. People have different coverage options and the fact the office doesn't bother correctly billing insurance is mind boggling. If the office doesn't want to work with VSP to understand how to correctly code and submit bills/claims, they should probably not agree to be in network with them.

Absolutely love Dr Denbow & all the assistants at Ashland Eyecare. They take good care of you while you are waiting & take u from room to room for tests like a well oiled machine! Making appointments & checking out or just stopping in to have your glasses adjusted it's all super easy!

I stopped coming here because I really didn't care for the customer service. But decided to give it a try again since they could get me in before the end of the year. The doctor is nice. But oy does this place upsell and nickle and dime things. I found other places significantly better priced with less of the sell. But so be it. My bigger problem was with picking up the glasses. I got a text to come during open hours to pick up my glasses. So I ran there on my way to something else. I am then told after being made to stand there for several mins without help that it would be 45 mins before I could pick up my glasses. I thought they had misunderstood and told them that I just needed to pick them up. And she said that they would have to get them off of the shelf and then fit them onto my face. I told her that I was in a rush and that I can just pick them up without the fitting. She said that it would still be another 45 mins before she could have someone get them off the shelf for me...now I have to make another trip back another day. I'm rather annoyed. So be it, but then maybe have us schedule an appointment to do this. Or say in the pick up message to call them and hour before arriving so that they can have them ready. Don't waist my time. I have already spent more than I can elsewhere (with having good insurance) and I have already waited longer than I normally would for the glasses. And now this. No thank you. I will go elsewhere.

I have been a patient for years. None of my complaint is about the actual doctors, but you have to go through the staff to get to the doctors and I am no longer willing to do that. I have been trying to get my appropriate rebate for contacts for over a year now. They don't return my calls, they say they will follow up and never do. When I spoke to them most recently, she said she had received my voicemail, but was on vacation. I understand that, but doesn't a professional return a call after vacation? I am sad that I now have to look for a new doctor, but I am not willing to go to a office that doesn't have a staff that will follow through or do what is best for their patient. I guess it is one of the perks of being a small town business - you can offer less than quality customer service and still retain your clients...not this time.
