They have a fantastic selection of glasses at this location. The staff is very, very friendly.
They are conveniently located on Wilmington Pike in Centerville. The staff seem to be very patient and attentive to their clients, especially the elders. I recommend this establishment for your eyewear.
If you value your vision, I recommend going elsewhere. I went in with adult onset double vision, which I've now learned is a red flag symptom requiring prompt evaluation. The visit focused entirely on prescribing prism lenses, and even then the prisms were not sufficient to fully correct the double vision, just enough to allow a glasses prescription to be written.
I was told, with very little urgency, that he couldn't diagnose the cause and that I could see a neurologist if it bothered me. Surgery was mentioned, along with the comment that these surgeries often fail, but there was no discussion of potentially serious or vision threatening causes of adult onset double vision, nor was the urgency of further evaluation explained.
The visit felt completely focused on getting the prescriptions written rather than a thorough evaluation of the cause of my symptoms. The lack of appropriate evaluation delayed recognition of a condition that can threaten vision if not addressed promptly.
Arrived 10 minutes early for a 11:2am appointment. I was taken to start the pre-exam tests. Upon completing that I was told I'd have to wait over an hour to see the doctor. Staff were apologetic and friendly, but that does not help when I've missed work for a scheduled appointment. They suggested I drive 25 minutes to another location.
Everyone was professional. Cynthia helped me understand what my insurance covered and got my wife and I a pair of glasses. She was also kind and funny!
I haven't gotten glasses in a very long time because my insurance is crap and only covered 17$ frames at the time. This year I decided to save for some good glasses before my big move to Florida. The exam itself PLUS the retinal imagining was around 85 dollars. With my frames and added uv protection and 20$ more for the protection plan I spent only about 280 something for my glasses and the exam. The doctor was great and answered all my concerns as well as educated me more on what my future career may entail for my eyes. The staff were awesome, respectful and extremely encouraging. They didn't guide me to the most expensive pair even though I was kinda eye balling the ray bans haha. But they helped me pick a good set of frames that addressed all my concerns that I had from the last pair I'd gotten. I appreciate you guys so much for your help and your work. I shall be seeing your company in Florida as well! Thank you again!
Went yesterday at 1:30, the staff was amazing and helped to repair and clean both pairs of my glasses to their fullest ability, and then get me set up for an eye exam. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and though I didn't catch their names, I would like them to be acknowledged for their great customer service.
I don't write many reviews, but I felt compelled to after visiting America's Best on Wilmington Pike in Centerville, Ohio. I was there with my son for his eye exam and glasses, and I ended up staying for about two hours - long enough to witness some of the most incredible customer service I've ever seen.
There were only two employees working at the end of the day today, and they were both absolute heroes.
One of them was helping an elderly couple who sat with her for over an hour, grilling her with repetitive and demanding questions about pricing and insurance. It was non-stop. They were loud, over the top, and honestly a bit exhausting to even be near. But this associate - she never once lost her patience. Her tone stayed calm, polite, and professional the entire time. She didn't try to rush them, even though there were at least three other customers waiting for help.
After she finally wrapped up with the couple and other customers, and was trying to close things up for the day, an older man came in and basically verbally assaulted her. He was loud, angry, and demanding a refund - he was just grotesquely allowing himself to luxuriate in his own hateful behavior. And again, this poor associate held herself together and responded with professionalism and grace. After he finally left, she had to excuse herself to go cry in the back room. I don't blame her one bit - no one should have to deal with that.
The second associate helped us, and she was just as kind and professional, even though the whole place was clearly understaffed. What's up with that America's Best?? These two women handled more in two hours than anyone should have to deal with in a week. They deserve a raise and so much more.
The amount of anger and entitlement people throw at customer service workers these days is just unbelievable. If that sounds like you, please stop. No one is paid enough to be treated like that. And we are lucky anyone is still willing to work these jobs where they deal with the public every day. If we want to live in a functioning society, we need people to do these jobs - so the least we can do is help each other out with kindness, patience, and basic respect. It costs nothing to be decent.
Both associates that day showed nothing but empathy, strength, and grace under pressure. They deserve way more recognition than I can give in a review. But I hope someone at America's Best sees this and knows what kind of amazing people they have on their team.
We all need to do better. But for now, I just want to say thank you to those two employees. You were incredible.
I called Friday and spoke to Tracy who was so helpful. She made sure she could find my insurance coverage, entered my personal info over the phone and even let me email my Rx from another Optometrist.
When I came the same day, she was so patient and helpful. This was my first time using my Rx to get a pair of glasses and ditch readers. It was a bit overwhelming w/ the choices. Her patience and suggestions were wonderful.
She also sat down w/ me and made sure my insurance covered as much as possible. She didn't pressure me to get anything I didn't need, just gave me really good info about each product.
I will come back here every time I need glasses in future!
