Do not go here for an eye exam. They will only bill your medical insurance and will give you a false medical diagnoses so that they can do so such as "eye inflammation" . I was told at the eye exam that my eyes were perfect 20/20 no issue and was under the impression I was there for a routine preventative eye exam. Fraudulent billing.
Dr. Erickson is absolutely amazing. She has helped my allergy and dry eye symptoms calm down a lot. Hardly no irritation, I am pleased. She knows what she's doing.
Let me start by saying that I have never had an issue with this establishment until recently. I have been going here for about 2-3 years, and every doctor showed me good service and understanding. Until recently.
Dr. Paul Moyer, the ophthalmologist I seen on November 14th, saw me for the first time for a recurring issue of eye inflammation. This was my first time visiting a doctor since I no longer have insurance, so the visit was a bit pricy, but I understand that business is business. He stated that I had eye inflammation, (you don't say huh?), and then told me to take eye drops that I had already been taking before. I was bothered by this but I wasn't complaining.
He then told me to come back in a week for a follow up. A week passes, but I told them the day of my appointment that I cannot make the visit because I do not have the funds at the moment, (due to not having insurance as stated earlier). I guess Mr. Moyer did not like the idea of not getting money from his patients, so another week passes, and he sends me a letter stating that he can no longer see me.
The letter stated that I was not taking my medications, (how do you know if I'm taking the medications off of one visit? lol), and that I was not taking his advice as I should have been. Mind you, this is my FIRST time seeing this man in my life, so stating that I continuously did anything is mind boggling. Funny how missing one appointment due to not having money is altered into not taking advice from your doctor.
The letter also stated that he would refer me to another doctor to see, but that he would still me 30 days post to receiving the letter. I got the letter on the November 22nd, and then called that Monday on November 25th to speak further about the bad customer service I was receiving. Dr. Moyer himself could not answer the phone, so one of his associates stated that he can no longer see me at all. So it went from still seeing me 30 days post receiving the letter, to now I won't see you at all.
I must say, this is the worst interaction I have had with a doctor in all my life, as something as serious as my vision is being taken lightly due to insufficient funds.
My issue is not with the establishment, let me reiterate. It is specifically with Dr. Paul Moyer. I would suggest that you avoid business with him, as he most likely will change his relationship towards you if you don't fill his pockets.

This group has been caring for my eyes since the 80s and I can't conceive going anywhere else. My encounter with the staff has been good. My doctors there are Dr. Miller and Dr. Shade phenomenal physicians. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Prosack in an emergency situation she was thorough, took her time and answered my questions
I was surprised to see such a low review for DEA. I'm a 30 year Type 1 diabetic and I've been coming here for years. Sometimes there is a wait but I've never felt rushed through either. I think that is the balance these days with medical care. If you want to be in and out then you need to show up early and not expect more than 15 minutes from the physician. This group has taken great care of my eyes and my vision and made sure I understand what and why they do what they do.
The other reviews don't seem fact based anyways. I had pink eye when I was young several times and two of my daughters have had it multiple times as well. Dr.s have continually told me that it's best to ride it out with no antibiotics and it's run its course with my kids and they are fine.
The person who waited 2 hours and got a 5 minute visit? Even if these docs were rushing through patients and only spending 5 minutes per patient, it doesn't make sense that it would take a long time to be seen because the Dr.s would be... rushing. Can't promise a good visit but I've had nothing but good experiences for nearly 10 years.
Do you enjoy wasting your time? Do you enjoy taking multiple days off at work only to have your appointment rescheduled when you arrive at said appointment? Do you enjoy wasting gas in your vehicle? Do you enjoy being billed multiple co-pays for services you didn't receive? Do you enjoy receptionist scheduling a procedure and arriving the day of only to be told that procedure can't be performed at this location? Well then, if you answered yes to any of the following questions I highly recommend this place.
This is a very professional yet relaxed place of business. The staff is well trained, very knowledgeable, very caring. My first time with this eye care center. Dr. Runkle was so friendly which helped me to talk with her. My first impression its that she listened. She answered all my questions thoroughly and explained my upcoming surgery very explicit. Asked me if at any point to explain again, she did so without hesitation. I do recommend you give them a call if ever you need an eye care center. I'm glad I did!
CVP has canceled my appointment so many times I can't count. Over a year and a half... I need to look into a left eye cataract surgery. Seems there are Doctor problems and a fire.... If it is over a year to gain access to a surgeon what would be the quality and results... and no follow up... I have been going there since Dr. Wilson. It was then Dayton Eye... CVP has deteriorated to a useless uncaring eye clinic... and a scary environment for such an profound part of our being.... I now am in search for a competent and well organized eye surgeon.
