The wait time here is unacceptable. It feels like the schedule is packed with far more "appointments" than the staff can realistically handle, and patients end up paying the price by sitting for an unreasonable amount of time. If you're going to book that many people, you need the staffing and workflow to match--otherwise it comes across as prioritizing volume over patient experience. I'd strongly recommend y'all scale appointments to your capacity and focus on delivering timely, respectful care rather than the greed-fest y'all got going.
The doctor's response to long wait time was that it was an 'elective' procedure and we elected to sit there and wait for hours, goes to show how much they really care about their patients.
After being referred to your institute, I attended my first appointment. At the conclusion of my exam, I was asked to pay a $45 copay. As I was leaving, I was stopped and asked to pay an additional $60. Confused, I paid the full $105.
Later, while speaking with my insurance representative about an unrelated matter, I mentioned these charges. The representative clarified that, according to my plan which has a $0 deductible, I should not have been charged anything for that visit. She confirmed that the insurance company had already paid the institute over $300 for my appointment.
With the insurance representative still on the phone, I immediately returned to the clinic (located just minutes away) to seek clarification. The front desk staff could only state that the $45 was because they are "considered a specialist." When asked about the $60, they had no explanation. One staff member offered to refund the $60, but another interjected, stating that because it had been two months, they could not process a refund at the clinic and I would have to contact the billing department.
This situation is deeply troubling. To be charged personally after the insurance company has already paid in full suggests a serious flaw in your billing process. It gives the appearance of a strategy to collect duplicate payments, relying on patients not to investigate. This is not only unprofessional but also unethical.

I have heard of this place from a coworker who claimed he had visited it frequently. With no reason to doubt him, I scheduled an appointment for a vision check-up and prescription for eyeglasses. I specifically picked the 8:00 am timeslot to avoid the crowd, but it seemed luck was not on my side that day. In the waiting room, there were already 10+ people ranging from young to elderly, singles to couples either seated or chatting with receptionists. I exchanged some words with a female staff and was directed to a seat. Thanks to my pre-register, the check-in process was quick; I would recommend this to everyone. The waiting area was clean and freshly scented; there were restrooms and shelves filled with magazines to cure boredom.
I waited for some 30 minutes before another staff, probably a tech, called me in for the glass prescription tests. She also filled out some paperwork and applied eye-dilating drops. Then, I was led to a shaded waiting area just behind the reception counters, where I waited for my eyes to dilate. I didn't have to wait for long before an assistant escorted me to an examination room where I finally met Dr. Tara Cayton.
Dr. Cayton inspected my eyes with some advanced diagnostic equipment and provided useful advices regarding my condition. She was amicable and knowledgeable; it was such a pleasure meeting with her. The assistant was also helpful even though she remained mostly silent.
The check-out process was swift; I received my prescription and a receipt. The check-up was free thanks to my insurance, but the prescription cost a reasonable fixed amount. The whole visit lasted about an hour and a half. Overall, I am pleased with my experience at Cincinnati Eye Institute Fairfield and definitely would visit again in the future.
The wait time is awful. It seems as if they cram all they're appointments in the morning for one doctor. I spotless recommend making your appointment in the afternoon. My geriatric client and I have been waiting for over 2 hours. It was finally time to see the Doctor. They called her name and before I could respond they called someone right after her making us have to wait even longer. I would not recommend this place at all.
Unprofessional, unethical behavior when they overbook appointment and make you wait for hours. My appointment was at 3:15 and had to leave at 4:40 without seeing a doctor.
Read the review they have been doing that for years . So to the receptionist that check me in , no need to lie and make excuses.
They are terrible! They don't return calls even when I'm having a major problem with one of my eyes. Go somewhere else. Terrible
In October of 2022 I had a first time appointment scheduled with Dr Chandhry. I waited in the waiting area for 70 minutes. I had to leave due to other obligations. I'm sure once I was called back to a room it would have been another 15 minute wait at least (per the norm at any dr. Office talking with a nurse); then another 15 min (at least) for my consult with an actual Dr. When i approached the front desk to inform them that I had been there for 70 minutes waiting and needed to leave, the front desk assistant was kind, slightly chuckled, and stated "yea you need to plan a day to come here". She wasnt trying to be rude, but she was serious in that statement. After seeing other reviews regarding this same complaint I thought Iwould post my experience in hopes that the practice would reconsider the time they expect patience to wait. The current practice policy on wait time seems disrespectful in my opinion toward clients (especially working parents who barely have time as it is.
The staff of this location in Fairfield are TOP NOTCH!! Every person we interacted with was kind, professional, understanding and helpful. My mom was transported from a nursing home and is wheelchair confined. She was extremely late to the appointment due to transport driver being late to pick her up. They still worked her in and treated her kindly and professionally without rushing her through the process. Several staff and the Doctor were there past closing time too! Then, the transport driver refused to take her home and left my mom stranded. A few of the staff members stayed and called the transport company on our behalf. I cannot express enough our appreciation for all those who interacted with my mom and stayed to fight to get her home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
