Shawnee Optical - Findlay

I have been going to Shawnee for years, they help maintain ny optical medical condition. They are very very kind, and they have a really good selection of glasses. They also often have pretty good deals. I'm actually getting prescription sunglasses because of the buy one get one 50% off deal. I'd recommend anyone to go here.

The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The process from start to finish was efficient and thorough. The Doctor even went over what he was doing and why. They also offer the option to not have those drops used and instead some sort of photos of your eye ball are used and also simply broke down and explained (photos are extra cost but well worth it in my opinion). The selection of frames is excellent, communication on appointments and glasses pick up was great and the fitting was simple.

Very friendly staff that really takes the time to help with your glasses or answer questions. The eye exam is very thorough. I would highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful staff ! They took great care of my daughter. Dr. Reineck was very knowledgeable and explained throughly what he was doing throughout the exam. Each staff member we came in contact with throughout the process was kind , personable, engaging and helpful. I felt as though the selection of eyewear was great as well. We were also pleasantly surprised by how quickly the turn around was for pickup of the glasses! Very pleased!

At the age of 76 I wanted to try contacts. Everyone was very thorough & helpful to enable me to do this. Findlay's Shawnee is a very special caring group.

This is a wonderful office. Everyone was nice and friendly. Dr. Meents explained everything fully and in a way that was easy to understand.

This office used to be really great. The doctor and the office team were top of their game. But at some point, that changed. The office ladies failed to put in orders when they were needed and left customers hanging. They have become cold and rude. On multiple occasions, they bent or cracked frames they were working with. They don't replace frames that they break. The techs are not careful and have scratched and poked my eye or eye lids. The doctor at this office must be retiring soon or maybe just doesn't feel it anymore. I had asked if I could get contacts and he said that he didn't want to deal with the weights in the contacts and that I just need to settle for glasses. The level of care is not what you hope for in a doctors office. It was upsetting because this was the office I went to ever since I was little. I hope that things get better for everyone in this office. I'm not sure if they are overworked or what. But that's no reason to reduce the level of care for patients.
