Worst doctor experience I've ever had....Either the girls in the office do not know what they are doing or they are short staffed...the wait to be taken back to the exam room was fast...however, the wait for the Dr. was long, once he came in he was finished with me in less than a minute...then his assistant left me in the room , stated she would be right back, after over 20 minutes, Someone yelled "can you see what's going on in room 2?" Which was my room. (I had gotten up and opened the door). Long story short they forgot about me...I was to follow up in 2 weeks. When I was checking out she stated. The Dr is out for 4 weeks, so that will be my next appointment- no prescription was called after 2 days waiting - will not be returning
Called 5 times and they never answered. Had to call the Circleville location to get through to Lancaster location. I Told them I had something stuck in my eyelid that was scratching my eye and what insurance I have. They said that they can take care of my eye, they take my insurance, and made me an appointment same day.
I get to my appointment, fill out paperwork, wait, then they proceed to tell me they do not take my insurance, nor can they do anything about the thing stuck in my eyelid.
I felt safe and comfortable with Dr Schumacher. I wouldn't want to see anyone else for my surgeries. As far as returning calls, not so much. The front desk were very nice and surgery staff were a blessing for my anxiety before surgery. They were great at calming me. I love this office. I highly recommend them.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Patel and his office. To start, Dr. Patel himself is incredibly dry and lacks any sense of personality or empathy. The office building is in terrible condition--run-down, dirty, and clearly in desperate need of renovation and basic cleaning. It was hard to feel comfortable in such a neglected environment.
The staff was no better. The front desk and back-office team were emotionless and unprofessional. The entire operation was disorganized and dysfunctional. As a self-pay patient, I expected clear communication about pricing. Instead, they seemed clueless. Pricing had inexplicably quadrupled since I last inquired two years ago, and while I understand inflation, this was beyond unreasonable. When I questioned the cost, the front desk staff literally texted someone on their personal cell phone to figure out what to charge me--completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
After the surgery, the problems only got worse. I never received any aftercare instructions or paperwork regarding the procedure. Dr. Patel performed the surgery, disappeared without saying a word, and I never saw or heard from him again. It was appalling to receive such a lack of follow-up and care.
I will never return to this establishment, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere that values professionalism, cleanliness, and patient care.
Dr. Schumacher was great. I have no issues with him. But his nurses, partially one was not good at all. When they took me back for my surgery she stated that she had given me a valume to relax me. After thinking for a minute I said you did not give me one. She very snotty said yes I did! I informed her that she most certainly did not! Then she said she gave it to me while I was waiting in the hall, which I informed her I got eye drops put in but no pill! So she says we'll aren't you Peggy. I said no I an Cindy! She continues with well your birthday is March such and such..again I had to inform her that was not correct, my BD is in January! So she gives me the pill and then the doctor came in and asked me if I was feeling whoozie yet. I said no because she just gave me the pill! The valume did start to kick in a little when they took me back, but I felt they should have waited a little longer...so if you decide to go there be on your toes!! My surgery itself was a success.
I had a decent experience here. With Dr. Schumacher. Office staff was always pleasant. Maybe a bit scattered. I offered to pay every time I was in. They said don't worry, we'll bill you. I never got an actual bill. But a notice I was past due! Lol. So. Billing could use some work. But surgery, both eyes, very successful! And the surgery prep staff were wonderful.
1 star because I was happy with the Doctor who saw me. I was there only 2 times. I am self pay and paid each time with a check. I just recently received a bill 2 months later saying I owed $155.00. I left 3 messages with the billing department over a weeks time who does not return calls. I called the office I went to and of course she couldn't help me because she isn't the billing dept. The least she could've done was to say "let me see what I can find out", but no she wasn't willing to do something "extra"....sadly there is no customer service anymore and I will never return.
Super happy I had metal in my eye and no insurance they got me in immediately was very friendly and most important they fixed my eye and the price was reasonable I love these guys they made a very stressful painful situation manageable
