While the doctor was pleasant, the billing practices were unacceptable. As a military family using Tricare, we are very familiar with referral requirements -- and I have never needed one for a routine eye exam. However, the visit was coded in a way that required a referral from my Primary Care Manager, resulting in an additional $135 out-of-pocket expense. This was not communicated in advance. Very disappointing experience. This was my first and last visit.
Dr. Florkey did my exam for new contacts and the prescription she gave me was not even close. I knew there might be changes, but this change was too drastic. I complained about my right eye only to her and the staff and they all told me to wait until it seads in. I've worn contacts for years and told them something is wrong. The trial pair they gave me made me sick physically. I went and had a second opinion exam at a different business and my prescription barely changed and I can see great with zero issues. The outcome would've been different if they just listened to me, the patient!
I have been a patient of Dr. Florkey at Greene County Eyecare for several years. Dr. Florkey is competent, kind, attentive, and personable. The staff is also friendly and very helpful.
I recently purchased a pair of frames from a business that offers a wider selection of smaller frames. While wearing the frames on my way home, I realized I could not see road signs clearly. I went back to the store and was told that Greene County Eyecare gave me the wrong prescription. I went to Greene County Eyecare and spoke with Joe who said that it was in fact the correct prescription. Joe then went above and beyond his responsibility to contact the other business making two phone calls. Remember, I did not purchase the frames from his office. He and a different worker at the other business came to the conclusion that I needed another adjustment to my new frames. And I needed to get used to them because they were different from my old frames. Sure enough that fixed the problem.
I highly recommend Dr. Florkey, Joe and their staff for high quality and exceptional care.
Just amazing! The level of service and care was next level. I will highly recommend to anyone. Thank you Greene County Eye.
I absolutely love this place. Dr. Florkey is incredibly knowledgeable--she took the time to talk with me about my eyes in relation to my disabilities, which no doctor has ever done before. I was so impressed with the level of care.
I also can't say enough good things about Natalie. When my new sunglasses started making me feel sick, I figured it was just an adjustment period, but it never got better. I finally called, and she immediately told me to come in, recognizing it as a digital lens issue that some people don't tolerate well. She got them fixed for me, and they were better, but then they didn't fit right. At that point, I decided I'd just deal with it and not complain again--I assumed I'd picked the wrong style and wrote them off entirely.
But then Natalie called me to check in, and that changed everything. When she asked how they were, I hesitated, not wanting to make a big deal, but she immediately encouraged me to come back in. She knew exactly what to do, adjusted them perfectly, and now they fit and feel amazing. I wouldn't have gone back on my own, but her kindness and follow-up made all the difference.
I'm so grateful for the care she and Dr. Florkey provided, and I highly recommend them both and the office as a whole.
Front desk is rude and lacks empathy. I wouldn't let this place touch my dog's eye, let alone mine. 0 stars! Some people should not work for the public!
My husband has been waiting for 4 weeks now with not so much as an update other than there was some problem with the frames. He has been without glasses (his broke) and not to mention this place was so expensive, even with insurance! He has been told he'd have a call back but I seriously doubt it. Never going back. Ridiculous.
A genuinely caring optometry office. When I brought my very elderly mother there Megan went out of her way to help us. Dr Florkey has been my mother's and my optometrist for decades, she's personable and professional, and we are grateful she's in Xenia!
