Best eye doctor I've ever been to by far. I've been coming here for 5 or 6 years, both Dr. Martin & his staff are always very helpful and efficient. Not sales-y in any way, they'll tell you about extra tests they can do but they never make you feel awkward or try to push when you decline them - they just move right along with the exam. They'll order your contacts for you and have them shipped to your house, and make sure you know about any rebates you're eligible for. They'll give you a glasses prescription with your contacts prescription in case you need it. They're right next to a LensCrafters, but they're a completely separate practice - there's no one trying to sell you glasses here. They also take walk ins if they're not slammed - the first time I came here I accidentally showed up the day before my appointment and they got me in right then anyway. Overall, I highly recommend Nick Martin & his practice.
Guess you can't come here for an eye infection as they only specialize in "eye glass and contact exams". They say don't require dilation my guess is they would never dilate as that seems more in line with health not Rx. How amazing to go through all this schooling to only ask if 1 or 2 is better.
If it's not required to check health of eyes why do they require an appointment at all? Might as well just read my glasses and give me the Rx. The board of optometry should be embarrassed to license such "doctors".
When called they say there are no appointments but online they have/had appointments - you'll be better going elsewhere.
My husband and I have been going to this optometrist office for almost 5 years. We haven't had any problems until recently. The office billed an incorrect procedure to our insurance and it was deemed 'out of network'. I spoke with our insurance company and they said they spoke with one of the billing people at the optometrists, and all they needed to do was resubmit the claim with the correct covered procedure and they'd reimburse us. I called and spoke with the receptionist multiple times who left messages for the billing person on my behalf. It has been months now and still no contact or reimbursement, even though the annual eye exam is covered under our insurance. Dr Nick Martin is a great optometrist and I appreciate the person who left messages on my behalf, but we will not be returning due to the lack of communication and the inefficiency of correcting their own billing mistakes.
Went in for my appt. On 30th of October at 1115 and was met with one rude receptionist. Didn't feel like being nice and smiling at this blonde Karen. So I left.
Front desk staff was rude as others have said. The assistant techs were great. That's why two stars. I was told after getting what I thought was the actual eye exam. That they were going to charge me personally for an office visit and reschedule the exam. He wanted to reschedule the exam again because I had an eye infection and was on a prescription. Which I thought was understandable. I am a veteran and went to another VA doctor earlier in the week that gave me treatment. He barely looked at my eye and told me to reschedule the exam and he was gonna charge me for the "office visit". I was informed this at the end and if he had told me right away that he wanted to reschedule I would have been glad to reschedule. I didn't need him to look at my eye because I already recieved treatment earlier in the week. The tech had already finished most of the exam before he came in. I just wanted a basic eye exam and was willing to pay for a contact fitting. But he should have stopped me upfront when I informed them I had already been to the doctor a few days before and was on a prescription. When I told him I wasn't paying for the office visit I was there for an exam and that's all I agreed too he said he wouldn't treat me. So I agreed. I honestly didn't want to come back after this misunderstanding anyway. The front desk attitude didn't help the situation. The assistants were great, he was disappointing. I would not recommend his office overall. No thank you.
I was hesitant because of all the 1 star reviews. However Dr. Martin AND staff were absolutely amazing! They were kind, efficient, and informative. Dr. Martin was also kind, informative and his bed side manner was kind as well. I would definitely recommend dr. Martin and his staff for your eye care needs. We had a great experience.
Always a great experience here! Been going here for 4 years now and never had a problem here! Staff is great!
Come for the eye exam, stay for the sales trap.
If you value your time, money, or sanity -- do. not. come. here.
Yes, it's "convenient" because it's next to LensCrafters. But so is the food court in a mall, and you don't go there expecting a gourmet meal. Convenience doesn't excuse bad service.
First off, the front desk lady. Rude, dismissive, and apparently a permanent fixture here despite dozens of bad reviews calling her out. Either the doctor never reads his reviews, or he's just okay with the vibe being "hostile greeter at the DMV."
The doctor? Actually nice and knowledgeable. But the system here is shady. I've been wearing Acuvue by Johnson & Johnson forever. Instead of giving me that for my fitting, they hand me some random brand. According to the doctor, the main reason for the fitting was to test "mono vision" (different prescriptions for each eye) since I normally wear the same in both eyes.
Then comes the kicker: They made me sign a form saying that if anything was wrong with the prescription after 30 days, I'd have to pay for another office visit (~$100). They mention that. What they don't mention? That in Oklahoma, your prescription can only list the brand you tried during the fitting. Translation: those random brand contacts I wore for 7 days? Yeah, that's all I can legally get from them now.
Moreover, they did not provide a copy of the contact lens prescription at the end of the contact lens fitting. which VIOLATE the Contact Lens Rule Requirements
This raises 5 serious questions:
1. If you told me about the 30-day rule, why not mention the brand restriction?
2. Why give me some random brand instead of the one I specifically told you I wear?
3. Are you pushing this brand on purpose?
4. Do they give you a commission for sales at the expense of the patients?
5. Why did not you give me the prescription the same day of my appointment when I had my lenses fitting?
So now I'm stuck with a prescription I don't even want, thanks to zero communication and a process that feels like a sales trap.
Final verdict: The doctor might be good, but the way this place operates is a hard pass. Unless you like rude staff, missing information, and buying contacts you didn't ask for, go literally anywhere else.
