If I could give them zero stars, I would. By far, the worst experience I've had. My nephew broke my glasses frame (bought at a different place out of state). I called in to see if they could remove the lenses and put them into another frame. The person on the phone said this was doable. I walked into the store a few days later and explained my phone conversation to the lady at the front desk. She told me they couldn't do this but offered to schedule me an eye exam to get new glasses. I agreed and we scheduled my appointment for Friday. I want to note that she told me they do telehealth exams or they have an onsite doctor who can do a more thorough exam. I told her that I wanted to see the in person doctor, she made a note on my chart. I showed up on Friday, checked in at the front desk, and sat down in the waiting room. People who came in after me without an appointment started to get called before me. The first few I figured were using the telehealth option. It continued to happen and I sat in the waiting room for an hour. No one at the front desk acknowledged me or checked in on my status. I received a phone call from work and on the phone, I mentioned that I still hadn't been seen. It was around 12:30 and one of the workers overheard me and a few minutes later I was called back. After taking pictures of my eyes, eye pressure, etc., the tech walked away to speak to the doctor. Then the lady from the front desk came back to tell me she didn't check me in correctly and that's why I kept getting skipped. I was then told that the doctor wouldn't be able to see me until after 2 because she doesn't work through her lunch. At that point, I had missed 2 hours of work and informed them I could neither wait nor come back that day. They offered to reschedule me for Monday, to which I agreed and noted again that I wanted to see the in-person doctor. I got a call on Monday asking me to reschedule because the doctor was not in the office to which I declined and told them I'd go elsewhere. This place is an absolute joke and the workers seem to care more about their personal conversations than doing the work correctly.
Definitely a scam! I did the eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses. You need to read the fine lines. There's a very small selection for men and women. A week later my glasses started showing a small break in the glasses. My husband saw the glasses and asked if I broke them. I said no. The small break was a broken part, way before I bought them, and glued back together and painted before they sold the glasses. So they're not telling you the glasses are refurbished. That's why it's so cheap. I called up there and tried to explain it over the phone. They said to bring the glasses back in so they could look at them. I didn't want to waste any more time on them after that phone call.
I'm gonna give some advice here. Their deal is not actually a deal. Going to a normal optometrist, Even without insurance, To get a prescription then going online to get your glasses is going to be your best bet. This place has terrible options for the cheapest set of glasses, And depending on what day and time you come in, you get more screwed than other times. When I went in, I had to pick out my glasses right then and there and they only had three options, I'm not kidding. I had to pick out 2 pairs and there's only three options. When I went to pick them up, there was a bunch more options (Not super great options, but still some more variety) So you kind of just get whatever stock is like that day. And it's not good. The quality of the glasses It's just as bad as the appearance. That is actually what made me write this review. I have had these glasses for a short amount of time and both sets have had lens fall out, Screws coming out ect. The first time this happened was like a week after I got them I'm not rough with them. I don't sleep in them. I keep them in the case. But they fall apart at the seams. I really wish I saved my money and just got my prescription and got some glasses online, There's multiple websites where you can get prescription glasses for way cheaper than they offer with 1 million different options of styles. Don't let this place scam you
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone was pleasant and my daughter says her eyeglass prescription is the best she has had yet. I even made myself an appointment for next week. Definitely recommend!
I've been to Stanton Optical four times, and every time the second pair of glasses has been done poorly. They advertise Buy One Get One Free, but the free pair has been completely unusable in my experience.
The last visit was especially disappointing--the prescription provided (apparently from an online doctor) felt incorrect and was worse than my old glasses. During the exam, when asked whether Option 1 or Option 2 was better (or if Option 3 was the same), none of the choices were clear for me. It was essentially Option 4: none of the above.
Not a single option provided clear or readable vision. After multiple attempts, I've lost confidence in the accuracy and quality of their second pair process.
Had a terrible experience today, came in there with my mom, took her frames to get them replaced, she had a warranty. When we first got there, we told the employee in there that she had a warranty and the first thing he said is "well I will have to pull it up and verify that first before we do anything" he then helped everyone who was in front of us and then people who were behind us as well and told us to sit down and that he would be with us soon and he took a pretty long time with the other customers. A different employee then came in and helped us, they honored the warranty but also surprised us and said "oh that will be $16 as well" and when my mom came in there last year nobody told her that there would be any costs when using the warranty... she was led to believe it would cover it completely so then I told the employee that going forward they should have some more respect and transparency with customers and she seemed all upset and angry with me for saying that but it's the truth and also there's a strong marajuana smell in this store too.
Just go somewhere else.....the primary means of the eye exam is telehealth, if you want the doc in-person its an additional charge. Certainly didnt help the receptionist has zero bedside manor and to top it off the place reaks due to the dispensory thats just on the other side of the wall. We left and went to zelners on memorial. I get it if this is all you can afford but there are better options with and without insurance. These are the only set of eyes you get folk
never go here, if you get something stuck in your eye they will tell you they know better than you, sell you some medicine and send you home WITH THE STUFF STILL IN YOUR EYE. A BUG! Go anywhere else or take care of it yourself. Your insurance won't cover it either
