This was one of the most disappointing and concerning medical experiences I have had.
For the past five years, I have suffered from a constant "sandpaper" or gritty sensation in my eyes. During that time, I have seen five different optometrists and had approximately twenty visits seeking relief and answers. After waiting four months for this specialist appointment, I was hopeful that I would finally receive a clear diagnosis and treatment plan.
The examination appeared thorough. The physician indicated he would document his findings and then return to discuss them. However, after typing for several minutes, he rapidly listed several medications he was prescribing -- so quickly that it was difficult to follow -- and then abruptly left the room, stating that staff would assist me at the front desk. There was no discussion of his findings, no clear explanation of my diagnosis, and no opportunity to ask questions.
After waiting two hours for the appointment, I left without understanding my diagnosis or the rationale behind being prescribed four medications. I was told at one point that the medications would "drastically improve" my condition, but no further explanation was provided.
At checkout, due to the distress of the encounter, I was not provided protective glasses despite having had my eyes dilated, and I had to drive an hour home.
When I later called the office to ask what my diagnosis was and to confirm that my prescriptions had been sent to the pharmacy, I was asked to state what had been prescribed rather than being provided that information directly. I was also told the medications were over-the-counter and the same as what I was already using. In reality, I have already been taking these medications for the past two years, making this appointment feel unproductive.
After five years of symptoms, numerous providers, and months of waiting for this consultation, I expected clear communication, a defined diagnosis, and an opportunity to participate in my care plan. Patients deserve to understand their condition and treatment recommendations.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
I simply just need help with my eyes.
Dr Goldberg is priceless! EyeGod!
Waiting is part of the game because his ofc attracts patients from states away due to his expertise. I am lucky to have him as my Dr , he is in high demand.

Dr Goldberg is very thorough and he's kind. He takes his time to explain what's happening and what to expect.. I was referred to him by my eye doctor who says he's the best in the state.
I was referred to Dr. Goldberg by my new eye doctor after one of my corneas had failed due to a missed diagnosis of keratoconus that was not caught by my previous eye doctor. He was able to tell me within the first visit what was going on with my cornea. A month later he personally performed a cornea transplant, and I was able to see out of my left eye for the first time since my early 20s. He is extremely knowledgeable and confident in his work. It was only after the surgery that I read up on his extensive experience, but his confidence before that made me feel comfortable trusting him. He has not let me down. I didn't expect such an expert to be serving Tulsa.
The most skilled eye surgeon I've ever visited. Dr. Goldberg takes plenty of time to explain treatment options and his staff is very professional in explaining costs and procedures. I felt safe and secure knowing that my eye problems are being taken care of by the best in Tulsa.
We have had Many appointments over the past 8 months, seldom has anyone smiled, only one person in all the appointments has smiled, and introduced themselves. Every appointment has been a long wait, doctor rarely apologizes for the delays. The final outcome appears to be fine but the efforts to get to that point have been frustrating. The culture must be brutal to have that many staff so unhappy or uncaring or both.
I have a rare autoimmune disease that can affect the eyes and cause blindness. My eyes had become bloodshot, so I called Dr. Goldberg's office. His tech returned my call, and Dr. Goldberg sent a prescription to my pharmacy without seeing me or talking to me. A patient with my autoimmune disease and a new symptom in the eyes should have an exam with an ophthalmologist. Several weeks later, my dermatologist diagnosed me with new ocular involvement from my autoimmune disease. I was disappointed that Dr. Goldberg had not looked at my eyes and given me a correct diagnosis.
Dr. Goldberg is the most talented and skilled surgeon I have ever known. Tulsa is so lucky to have him here. I feel fortunate to have him as my doctor. You only have to mention his name and the response is always the same -- He is the best!
