The Eye Institute: Thomas M. Briggs, M.D.

I just had my second eye (cataract) operated this week by Dr. Briggs. I am absolutely amazed not just at the results but the level of care I received. From the people at the front desk, his clinical staff, surgery scheduler to Dr. Briggs, I was treated as a VIP. He spent a lot of time explaining the differences in the intraocular lens options and helped me come up with the best option for my lifestyle. But, I think I was most impressed by what we all call "bedside manner". As I was about to go into the surgical suite, he came to let me know how things would proceed during the surgery just to make sure I was comfortable. (My pre-op nurse said he is the only one that does that with his patients) Post-op he also took the time to discuss with me what to expect as my eye healed at home. I know how busy Dr. Briggs is. But, I felt like his only patient.This young man is going to be wildly successful. Oh, and I should also point out that the day after surgery at my post-op appointments both eyes are 20/20. It's amazing to be able to see again. Thank you Dr. Briggs and staff! I'm a fan!

Dr. Briggs was my husbands ophthamologist when he was at the WIlliam's Building. My husband had went through a year of trying to find out why his eye's were drooping and and he was having trouble seeing. After 2 visits Dr. Briggs had my husband tested for Myasthenia Gravis and it turned out that is what he had. This young man is phenomenal and also one of the kindest doctors.

Dr. Briggs and the staff at The Eye Institute are top-notch! They were all friendly and professional. The tech explained all the tests she was going to perform before she did them. Dr. Briggs gave a thorough explanation of the condition of my eyes. He took the time to answer all of my questions. He also referred me to another eye specialist for further consultation. I will definitely continue coming here for all my eye care needs.

The surgery scheduling does not return calls. There's an issue I can't resolve and needed help. I've called 3 different times. I contacted the front desk and got sent back to the scheduling department and they automatically sent me to the message center they do not answer. I left a message I'm just going to cancel since they can't follow up. This was as second chance as in the past I was billed wrongly due to a transposed number. I wanted the doctor but the office staff is questionable. I left a msg that I won't be showing up on Jan 5 2025 since I can't get a callback. I'll let them figure out the patient.

Dr. Thomas Briggs diagnosed fast growing cataracts in both of my eyes. He was kind and caring while being extremely thorough in explaining everything to me. He spent time listening to and answering each question I had. I never felt rushed and had his full attention. My cataract surgery went great! I opted for the new LAL (Light Adjustable Lens) and I can see better than I have since I was about 10 years old. I don't even need reading glasses! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Thomas Briggs.

Doctor Briggs is a wonderful, caring physician. He treated me with the most respect, politeness as if I was his personal family. A well hygiene man, takes in to consideration his patients. I will and would recommend him to everyone.

I've done very few google reviews, this is my 3rd ever. After being improperly diagnosed at my 2 previous opthamologists, I finally was referred to Dr. Briggs for my 2 very small cataracts. He properly diagnosed my issue with my left eye cataract being directly in front of my pupil causing bluriness/cloudiness and recommended cataract surgery which I did, followed by my second eye in late November 2023. My 2 previous Dr's missed this diagnosis. The surgeries went well, and my vision is flawless now. Dr. Briggs is at the top of his game, highly educated and very effective in communicating. I highly recommend him.

My name is Bryon Barber Dr. Thomas Briggs and staff was the best if the best went from not seeing nothing but fuzz to being able to peek thru muddy waters and spot dry land u got 5 stars but if I was able to give more u definitely would have more stars. To all my veteran brothers and citizens of the USA (101st airborne infantry airsault Fort Campbell Kentucky) the fear is completely gone from me getting my other eye fixed!!!!
