Three of my children and myself go here because, even though the exams are longer than the conventional eye clinics, the university works hard to train these future eye doctors in so many details-- and it shows. My eyesight and my childrens' eyes are better because of Pacific Eye Clinic, Forest Grove. Thank you!
I had to give one star because all the lenses they use to test my vision, single ones and the ones in the equipment were filthy and cloudy dirty, and some even had enough condensation on multiple of them to affect my exam. I went back here twice within a two day period and another exam room was just the same.
Don't the students learn how to appreciate and learn to clean their equipment?
After noticing this at both appointments, I realized too that nothing had been dusted, and only the second time did the student disinfect where my chin sat. The little mirror that is used on the equipment was dirty.
Lastly, their appointments do take about 2-hours it seems but I didn't see much teaching going on in front of me. I saw a doctor maybe for 5 minutes. The 2nd one did introduce themselves but the first one didn't, and then remembered I was a patient, I dunno. She just complained about the equipment, it didn't suit her style(not the cleanliness of it).
My second appointment for a contact lenses fitting should have only been the 45 minutes that it was, but then I was left alone in the exam room for a half hour with no update. I finally said I had to leave in 10 minutes and they claimed the printer had issues, they were trying to print my prescription (I honestly don't think they knew whether to update my prescription or not, as I was left with the same RX-- but I'd rather just keep what I have anyway... after these experiences).
While the students were nice and service was as good as it can be with students and no real oversight, I do question the oversight and leaders, because I literally I had to tell the student the lenses were dirty and had condensation. The student tried to use her finger but she couldn't even reach the lenses in the equipment, so it stayed like that my entire exam.
And no... it was not my body heat, I realized this after multiple lenses were like this.
Disappointing.
This is supposed to be a school that leads in optometry but I wasn't impressed. I had a referral to come here but I won't be coming back. For a school that students pay thousands and thousands to attend --- please do better, and have higher expectations.
Please take more pride in your equipment, cleanliness and disinfection after each patient.
Always get my prescription correct and everyone there so prompt keep up the good work!
Unfortunatley, having going to America's best for all my eye care needs in and out with everything you need quickly. I went here with newly inquired health benifits, so I choose them since they are in network care, and close to home. However, the initial appointment was 2 plus hours long, the students didn't get my prescription right, the glasses weren't made properly. Long story short, it's been a very unpleasant experience in my opinion. It's taken 4 months to get anything finalized, they gave me 2 week trial contacts while they wait for the contacts they ordered for me to finalize the prescription, I've had 2 week contacts now for over a month. Patiently waiting...........not happy.
Jasmine deserves some major kudos for going above and beyond when scheduling my grandma with Alzheimer's appointment. She was outstanding. The actual exam was also great! Very skilled intern and state of the art equipment! Great!
Horrible experience, appointment took 2.5 hours, I was blind for the rest of the day. Never ever ever EVER again. At the 2 hour mark I asked how much longer, and they replied "Do you have somewhere to be?" Hmm let me think, I have a job and children. Yes, I have somewhere to be.. Truly a horrible experience.
Knowledgeable. Engaging. Helpful.
Went in to get contact Rx, and received the most complete & thorough examination I've ever had. All my questions were answered, concerns addressed, and even with my weird insurance situation the staff was super helpful in finding a resolution & fixing the problems.
Thorough and knowledgeable staff. I gave three stars due to the 3 hour first appointment. They didnt communicate the length of this when I called. All I needed was a typical eye exam and a prescription for contact lenses.
