Geisinger Medical Center Ophthalmology

The eye doctor is amazing!!! The women who work the eye center are ridiculous, I was there recently and filled out the computer to be waited on and they just took a random lady, this is easily my 6 th time there, and the whole staff is either on break or just ignoring people, I would love to use my insurance elsewhere, all I see is complaints about these people but they are still there, I can literally identify the 2 women who are either on "break" or just ignoring people

I arrived to my appointment well before the scheduled time. I had to wait 2 hours before I got to see the Doctor. He was very friendly and informative. Though with my observation, they clearly overlook him. I had no faults with the Doctor. However, the eye center was an absolute nightmare. They say they are open until 8, yet when I went there to pick out my glasses, they decided they were gunna close down at 4. So after waiting 2 hrs I then had to wait an additional week just so I could actually pick out my glasses. The nurses there said 'They were closing early due to being understaffed.' There were 4 of them there. They wouldn't let me put my order in as they 'weren't taking anymore orders for the day'. But she happily sat down to tell me how much it would cost to get my new glasses. I the amount of ti.e she answered my questions and gave me an estimate on how .uch it would cost, I could have easily put my order in.

The actual medical staff is wonderful. The Eyewear Center staff is extremely, extremely slow. Do Not Go There! While I 2+ hours to pick up glasses I got to listen to one worker tell an older couple all about her 18-yr old son's handwriting, her 3 cats, her Siberian Huskies (past and present). It almost seemed like a conscious work slowdown like you would see in a union dispute. She stated the delays have been this way since October, and now the only reaction the workers have is to laugh about it. I think Geisinger should consider closing the service if they can't staff it adequately and enforce some professionalism.

Dr was nice and all, but waiting over an hour and a half almost 2 just to pick up glasses is overly ridiculous. Staff move extremely slow. The pick up center is really slow. People don't have time to wait for 2 hrs just to pick up glasses that don't need adjusted.

The staff here is Awesome! From the Doctors to the receptionist/checkout- saved my vision, so courteous and caring- worth the trip of an hour- they take time and not too long in waiting g room!

Someone should really update the hours because it says they are open until 7pm. This is the 2nd day I arrived at 6pm to pick up my glasses and no one is here.

Waiting over 2 hours past appointment to see Doctor, the desk staff isn't doing a thing. Observed one girl just spinning her chair for over 2 hours..go elsewhere save yourself frustration

Dr Gupta came in on a Saturday to see me. He diagnosed and treated an infection that could have caused a permanent loss of vision. His concern and generosity saved my sight. Thank you!
