Eyeland Optical Ephrata

Location is convenient and clean, eye doctors amazing and explain everything thoroughly. Front staff is unfortunately very unhelpful and seem reluctant to do their job rather than sit and chat with each other. This office needs to upgrade and get with the times with staff that knows how to utilize technology.

My name is Gail & I picked up my glasses. The doctor made a mistake on my prescription & the frames were uncomfortable. But I had a very good end to my experience. Eyeland corrected everything. The manager & staff was very nice. Thank you all very much.

Doctor Stone is pleasant, knowledgeable and was a great help with my eye issues. I had a 4 pm appointment and was told to come at 3:45 for paperwork, even though I've been there before and it took literally 2 minutes to fill that out. I wasn't seen until after 4:15 and was in with the doctor until almost 4:50. At that time, I was sent out to the office to pick out frames and order glasses. No one offered any assistance in selecting frames, they only pointed to the different places I could select from. I was planning on getting 2 pairs and was trying on frames when one of the employees shut the lights out because they closed at 5pm. I couldn't see to try on the frames. I asked sarcastically if they wanted me to come back another time, although I work a 40 hour a week job and had to take time off to make that 4 pm appointment. No one said anything. The gentleman went and turned the lights back on and said to the other 2 ladies that he would stay. I felt pressured to hurry up picking out my frames and found it rather rude that they shut the lights out. Picking out glasses takes time, which they were very clear they didn't have any to spare. I took my prescription and left and I will not be back. They lost a yearly customer who purchases multiple pairs of glasses because they were bothered that the doctor didn't finish my exam until right before closing. The one woman even whispered to me that it wasn't my fault because the doctor liked to talk. Well guys, you sure made me feel like it was my fault and I won't be back. I work in a forward facing public service job and if any of my employees treated our patrons like I was treated at this office, they would be written up. Telling me to "have a good day" as I left shows how out of touch with customer service these people are. Obviously, I wasn't going to have a good day because they wasted my time and did not appreciate my patronage enough to keep the lights on.

When you talk about scammers Eyeland is on top of the list ,they changed my glasses prescription just a bit , I decided to get the lenses and use my own frames, they broke my frames a$450 frames and only offered me a 50% discount on new ones , this is unethical and very irresponsible I would never go back to any of the Eyeland stores , they want you to buy there frames , so they brake yours in order for you to buy from them , I took a refund for my lenses and I will go somewhere else

I have gone to Eyeland for about 3 years. Dr Stone is great. I have recommended Eyeland to several people, however I have heard from some friends that they received very poor customer service and that they will not go back. I experienced that service today when I went to get my frames adjusted. I have never heard of needing to be at the office an hour before they close just to get a simple frame adjustment . When I arrived there was someone at the front desk who never even looked at me or acknowledged my presence. Another employee was sitting down not busy looked at the employee and realized she wasn't going to help me so she got up and asked me "what I needed". When I told her she had me go to the table and "wanted to know what was wrong". When I told her she took my glasses and adjusted them and handed them back to me. She didn't look to see how it was fitting behind my ear that was causing me pain. She just said it will take time to heal. I'm afraid this will be the last time I go there. They need to improve their customer service.

Rude/ unfriendly/ poor customer service. The woman made a mistake in looking up my insurance and blamed my HR at my workplace and I asked her to double check and she realized she was wrong- no apology or acknowledgement or any type of friendliness though I was overly nice and kept saying thank you and apologizing. Definitely do not want to go back. Please train your people better or at least ask them to be somewhat polite.

SO disappointed with this place. My insurance changed so I notified them and they said they needed to check if they took the new insurance. After days passed with no call back, I called several times over the course of weeks leading up to my scheduled appointment. Everytime I called it was "the person that knows isn't here" or "I don't think Mary Beth told me this we will have to call you back".... Finally they answer when I call and tell me the day prior to my appointment that they do not take it. Because I desperately need contacts I ask if they can approve my prescription to be extended by a month to give me ample time to order them online and schedule with a new eye doctor. They once again say they will find out yet I never heard back from them. Even though I planned accordingly to not run into this problem (and took it upon myself to try and be proactive) and THEY screwed up I am now struggling to function for work because I do not have contacts and I am wearing old prescription glasses. Their communication is terrible and they are not honest or upfront with customers. They simply do not care. So so so disappointed and frustrated with the entire staff at this point.
