Wise Eyes Optical - Everett, PA

I have always had the best experiences at the Bedford location. Have used them off and on for 15 plus years. The staff are not intrusive but are very helpful if I have a question about eyeglasses or insurance. In the past I have dropped in with bent frames and they corrected them for me. (The glasses were not purchased there.) I very much appreciate the customer service. The doc is wonderful. My brother has dementia due to a TBI and has difficulty finding the correct words to express himself. The doc is professional and wonderfully personable. The appointments are not rushed and he takes all the time needed. I will not take my brother anywhere else.

Lady at the front counter needs to learn customer service skills. And learn how to talk to customer's. So we know what's going on. And a simple thank you at the end of a transaction is nice. Never going back here

Every interaction with this place leaves me infuriated, anxious, and feeling totally helpless because they just do whatever they want and don't tell you anything. I've been wearing contacts for 20+ years so it's not like I'm new to this. I made an appt here bc the good place was booked out too far, and god I regret it. The front desk women are absolutely useless and can't answer a single, simple question about contacts-not even how much they cost. (Red flag! That means they won't tell you how much they cost until you're on the hook to pay!) They only ordered me one box per eye of contacts and then talked in circles blaming insurance for why they didn't order more (like...ok then just charge me for what insurance doesn't cover like every single other Dr in the country? Turns out they're committing insurance fraud, that's why. My Acuvue torics were $80 /box billed to insurance and $65 /box "cash". Pretending they're more expensive when billing insurance means my allowance was 100% used up so that Wise Eyes could max out what they got paid.) I usually order a full year at a time (4 boxes per eye), pay the difference in cash, and then use Acuvue's rebates as available. Dr. McCombie's bizarre contact ordering process entirely prevented me from doing that, screwing me out of part of my insurance allowance AND the potential rebates. So then I had to go back to reorder more when I ran out, and Surprise! They ordered me a different kind of contacts altogether. When I told them there was a mistake, McCombie said the other kind were discontinued (they're not) and "the company sent these instead." As if Acuvue would just ???send something different from what was ordered??? Way more likely they ordered the wrong thing or unilaterally decided to switch me and then lied to me about it. It was easier for me to just pay and leave than to let them continue lying to me and talking themselves in circles. I am lucky I can afford to just keep these different ones in the hopes that they work out ok and if they don't I'll order more of my regular ones from online because nothing will ever convince me to go back to Wise Eyes after all this BS. If Wise Eyes replies to this review please know nothing I've said here is an exaggeration. I wouldn't put it past them to try to deny or blame me somehow for all this.

Honestly the best eye doctor I've ever had. My glasses got here within two days :)

paid over $750 for glasses with the wrong prescription and they said I had to get use to them. They aren't trained in eye care. This was my first time getting glasses and they took advantage of that. Should have gotten my money back. I can't believe they are still opened.

Had the day off...stopped in to see about setting up an appointment and was in the chair getting my eyes checked less than 10 minutes after walking in the door. Excellent service by the eye doctor and the girl out front who set me up with getting my new glasses.

You sent my glasses to Beitler McKee and I can't see out of them worst eyeglasses I ever had

They were very nice and helped my elderly client get new glasses in just a couple of days. She was so happy to be able to see again!
